Die Ruine der Steinernen Kirche war vor der Reformationszeit eine bedeutende Wallfahrtskapelle und der Heiligen Ottilie, der Schutzheiligen der Augenleidenden, geweiht. Das Wasser für die Heilung soll aus dem noch erhaltenen Brunnen der Ottilienquelle geschöpft worden sein. Die Ruine steht auf einem Basaltkegel, noch bis Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts, Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts wurde hier in einem Steinbruch Basalt abgebaut.
Avant l'époque de la Réforme, les ruines de l'église de pierre étaient une chapelle de pèlerinage importante et étaient dédiées à Sainte Ottilie, la sainte patronne des personnes souffrant des yeux. L'eau utilisée pour la guérison aurait été puisée dans la fontaine de la source d'Ottilie, encore conservée. La ruine se trouve sur un cône de basalte. Jusqu'à la fin du 19e siècle, au début du 20e siècle, on y exploitait encore le basalte dans une carrière.
The ruins of the stone church were an important pilgrimage chapel before the Reformation and were dedicated to St. Ottilie, the patron saint of eye sufferers. The water for the healing is said to have been drawn from the Ottilie spring, which is still preserved. The ruins stand on a basalt cone; basalt was still being extracted from a quarry here until the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century.
