Das Mühlrad befindet sich im Mühlgraben am Museum Herrenmühle. Es handelt sich dabei um ein sogenanntes Schau-Mühlrad. Es wurde nach einem historischen Mühlrad, welches sich auf Schloss Saaleck befand nachgebaut. Bereits in früheren Jahren stand an dieser Stelle ein Mühlrad. Dieses gehörte zu einem Sägewerk und diente zur Stromerzeugung. Das neu installierte Mühlrad hat einen Durchmesser von fünf Meter und eine Breite von 2,3 Meter sowie ein Gewicht von fünf Tonnen. Es ergänzt die Ausstellung im Museum Herrenmühle, da es anschaulich das Zusammenspiel zwischen Getreide und Wasser darstellt.
La roue à aubes se trouve dans le bief du musée Herrenmühle. Il s'agit d'une roue à aubes dite « d'exposition ». Elle a été reproduite d'après une roue à aubes historique qui se trouvait au château de Saaleck. Une roue à aubes se trouvait déjà à cet endroit autrefois. Celle-ci appartenait à une scierie et servait à produire de l'électricité. La roue à aubes nouvellement installée mesure cinq mètres de diamètre et 2,3 mètres de largeur, et pèse cinq tonnes. Elle complète l'exposition du musée Herrenmühle, car elle illustre de manière vivante l'interaction entre les céréales et l'eau.
The millwheel is located in the millrace at the Herrenmühle Museum. It is what is known as a display millwheel. It was built to replicate a historic millwheel that was once located at Saaleck Castle. A millwheel had previously stood on this site; that one belonged to a sawmill and was used to generate electricity. The newly installed millwheel has a diameter of five meters, a width of 2.3 meters, and weighs five tons. It complements the exhibition at the Herrenmühle Museum, as it vividly illustrates the interaction between grain and water.
