Sättelstädt est mentionné pour la première fois dans un document sous le nom de "Sedinstede" dans un acte de donation au monastère de Hersfeld en 1005. Le nom extraordinaire du lieu remonte à la légende de Reinswig. Le village reçoit de fortes impulsions culturelles et sociales grâce au travail varié des associations et de leurs membres.

The oldest village in the Hörsel valley - Sättelstädt - is located directly at the foot of the Hörselberg on the Hörsel river. The village can look back on 1000 years of eventful history. Sättelstädt was first mentioned in documents as "Sedinstede" in a deed of gift to the Hersfeld monastery in 1005. The unusual place name goes back to the Reinswig legend. The town receives strong cultural and social impulses through the diverse work of the associations and their members.

Direkt am Fuße des Hörselberges an der Hörsel gelegen, liegt der älteste Ort im Hörseltal - Sättelstädt. Der Ort kann auf eine 1000-jährige wechselvolle Geschichte zurückblicken. Sättelstädt wird erstmals urkundlich als "Sedinstede" in einer Schenkungsurkunde an das Kloster Hersfeld im Jahre 1005 erwähnt. Der außergewöhnliche Ortsname geht auf die Reinswig-Sage zurück. Der Ort erhält starke kulturelle als auch soziale Impulse durch die vielfältige Arbeit der Vereine bzw. deren Mitglieder.
