Das Museum der Salzmannschule Schnepfenthal in Waltershausen ist ein Museum zur Geschichte der Pädagogik und des Philanthropismus, zugleich Gedenkstätte für die Begründer Christian Gotthilf Salzmann und Johann Christoph Friedrich GutsMuths. Ausstellungsraum 1 ist dem Thema „Philanthropismus“ mit seinen wichtigsten Wegbereitern und Vertretern gewidmet. Raum 2 steht unter dem Thema „Schnepfenthal“ und berichtet über die Gründung und den erfolgreichen Aufbau der Erziehungsanstalt. Die herausragenden Persönlichkeiten Christian Gotthilf Salzmann, Johann Christoph Friedrich GutsMuths sowie weitere bedeutende Pädagogen, die an der Wende vom 18. zum 19. Jahrhundert in Schnepfenthal gewirkt haben, werden im Raum 3 als „Die Macher“ vorgestellt. In Raum 4 erschließt sich dem Besucher „Der Schulalltag“ von der Zeit der Gründung bis zur Gegenwart. Besuche können nach telefonischer Anmeldung bei Herrn Adam oder per E-Mail stattfinden.

Dans la salle 4, le visiteur découvre "Le quotidien de l'école", de l'époque de la fondation à nos jours.
