André Kudernatsch is actually a satirist and writes funny stories. But now he can't laugh - almost. He wants to spend four weeks looking after his father, who suffers from dementia, even though he has absolutely no idea. He immediately ends up in an endless loop of sitting around, searching and arguing. He constantly hears that he used to be a pipe, is now a turd and will definitely be a good cook. One moment his father gives him 100 points, the next he reproaches him: "You've ruined my life." Kudernatsch is overwhelmed. His mother, who could sort things out, is far away. She coughs at him - in the truest sense of the word. So he resorts to self-help and writes everything down. The result is a book about love, helplessness, the end of childhood and dealing with the illness. In einem Moment gibt sein Vater ihm 100 Punkte, im nächsten wirft er ihm vor: „Du hast mein Leben zerstört.“ Kudernatsch ist überfordert. Seine Mutter, die einiges regeln könnte, ist weit weg. Sie hustet ihm was – im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes. Darum greift er zur Selbsthilfe und schreibt alles auf. So ist ein Buch entstanden, in dem es um Liebe, Hilflosigkeit, das Ende der Kindheit und den Umgang mit der Krankheit geht. C'est ainsi qu'est né un livre dans lequel il est question d'amour, d'impuissance, de la fin de l'enfance et de la gestion de la maladie.
