Die Talsperre Auma liegt in der Nähe der Stadt Weida und diente ehemals dem Hochwasserschutz und der Energieerzeugung. Heute ist sie ein beliebtes Freizeit- und Ausflugsziel. Die Brauchwassertalsperre dienst gleichzeitig der Freizeit und Erholung. Es gibt einen Rundweg um die Talsperre Auma und die Umgebung ist zum Teil als Naturschutzgebiet ausgewiesene. Eine schöne Liegewiese lädt zum Sonnenbaden ein, Baden, Ruder- und Tretbootfahren, sowie Angeln sind möglich. Westlich der Aumatalsperre befindet sich ein idyllisch gelegener Naturcampingplatz.
