19th-Century Architectural Gems of the Weimar Region There is no doubt that nature holds the primal force of human health. In Bad Sulza, in addition to the brine, the historic spa park—designed in the style of an English landscape park—contributes to this in a holistic way. Its oldest sections were created around 1850 with the guidance of the Sckell family of gardeners from Weimar. The park was expanded toward the city in the late 19th century. Architectural gems include the band shell (1875), the weather station (1882), and the drinking hall (1910), where the soothing brine from the Carl-Alexander-Sophienquelle spring is still served today. The park is not simply a green space, but a deliberately composed landscape. This means: gently winding paths, visual axes, small moments of surprise, and plenty of nature that does not feel rigid, but rather fluid and soothing. In Bad Sulza trägt dazu neben der Sole auch der denkmalgeschützte Kurpark im Stil eines englischen Landschaftsparks ganzheitlich bei. Seine ältesten Teile entstanden um 1850 unter Beratung der Weimarer Gärtnerfamilie Sckell. Die Erweiterung in Richtung Stadt erfuhr der Park im späten 19. Jahrhundert. Architektonische Kleinode sind die Musikmuschel (1875), das Wetterhäuschen (1882) oder die Trinkhalle (1910), in der bis heute die wohltuende Trinksole der Carl-Alexander-Sophienquelle ausgegeben wird. Der Park ist nicht einfach eine Grünfläche, sondern ein bewusst komponierter Landschaftsraum. Das bedeutet: weiche Wegeführungen, Sichtachsen, kleine Überraschungsmomente und viel Natur, die nicht streng wirkt, sondern fließend und beruhigend. Er zwingt niemanden zu Aktivitäten, sondern lädt ein, das eigene Tempo zu finden – und genau darin liegt seine Kraft.

À Bad Sulza, outre l’eau salée, le parc thermal classé, aménagé dans le style d’un parc paysager anglais, y contribue de manière holistique. Ses parties les plus anciennes ont été créées vers 1850 sous les conseils de la famille de jardiniers Sckell, originaire de Weimar. Le parc s'est étendu vers la ville à la fin du XIXe siècle. Parmi ses joyaux architecturaux, on trouve le kiosque à musique (1875), la petite maison météo (1882) ou la buvette (1910), où l'on sert encore aujourd'hui l'eau salée bienfaisante de la source Carl-Alexander-Sophienquelle. Le parc n’est pas simplement un espace vert, mais un espace paysager savamment composé. Cela signifie : des chemins sinueux, des axes visuels, de petites surprises et beaucoup de nature, qui ne semble pas austère, mais fluide et apaisante. Il n’oblige personne à faire de l’exercice, mais invite chacun à trouver son propre rythme – et c’est précisément là que réside sa force.
