Cette grande maison patricienne avec sa façade ornementale représentative a été construite par le médecin et plus tard maire Dr Tobias Breithaupt vers 1609. Sur un ancien rez-de-chaussée et un étage solidement construits, un deuxième étage à colombages a été ajouté, crépi et toute la façade est richement décorée de stuc. Au-dessus de la porte d'entrée se trouve le blason d'alliance des familles Breithaupt / Urbach dans un cartouche héraldique en grès. À partir de 1740, la propriété appartient au marchand et plus tard au maire Johann Christian Weiß (1703-1784), qui emploie Friedrich Gottlieb Klopstock comme tuteur de ses deux fils. Aujourd'hui, la maison d'habitation brille à nouveau dans sa première coloration baroque.
This large patrician house with its representative ornamental facade was built by the physician and later mayor Dr. Tobias Breithaupt around 1609. On an existing older solidly built ground floor and upper floor, a second upper floor in half-timbered construction was added, plastered and the entire facade richly decorated with stucco. Above the entrance gate there is the alliance coat of arms of the families Breithaupt / Urbach made of sandstone in a heraldic cartouche. From 1740, the property was owned by Johann Christian Weiß (1703-1784), a major merchant and later mayor, who employed Friedrich Gottlieb Klopstock as a tutor for his two sons. Today, the residential house shines again in its first baroque colorfulness.
Dieses große Patrizierhaus mit seiner repräsentativen Schmuckfassade ließ der Arzt und spätere Bürgermeister Dr. Tobias Breithaupt um 1609 errichten. Auf ein vorhandenes älteres massiv erbautes Erdgeschoss und Obergeschoss wurde ein zweites Obergeschoss in Fachwerkkonstruktion aufgesetzt, verputzt und die gesamte Fassade reich mit Stuck verziert. Über dem Eingangstor befindet sich in einer Wappenkartusche das Allianzwappen der Familien Breithaupt/Urbach aus Sandstein. Ab 1740 befand sich das Grundstück im Besitz des Großkaufmanns und späteren Bürgermeisters Johann Christian Weiß (1703-1784), der Friedrich Gottlieb Klopstock als Hauslehrer für seine zwei Söhne anstellt hatte. Heute erstrahlt das Wohnhaus wieder in seiner ersten barocken Farbigkeit.
