About: Wolfmannshausen

Der Ortsteil Wolfmannshausen liegt im Landkreis Schmalkalden-Meiningen, 18 km südöstlich von Meiningen. Schon von weitem begrüßt Wolfmannshausen mit der Spitze des Echterturms der im Jahre 1616 erbauten  Ägidiuskirche seine Gäste. Erstmals erwähnt Anno 956 durch eine Schenkung des Edlen Wolmut, dem Wolfmannshausen wohl auch seinen Namen zu verdanken hat, kann es auf eine lange wechselhafte und äußerst interessante Geschichte verweisen. Vor allem auch für Freunde der Archäologie wird es von großem Interesse sein, dass genau hier 1996 ein Bodenfund für Schlagzeilen sorgte: zahlreiche Keramikscherben der Rössner-Kultur (Stempeldruckkeramik), die in die Zeit um 3000 v. Ch. einzuordnen sind, sowie Scherben der Linienbandkeramik, die in Südthüringen recht selten vorkommt. Die Einwohner Wolfmannshausens sind überwiegend katholischen Glaubens. Da alle anderen Ort in weitem Umkreis evangelisch geprägt sind, wurde und wird Wolfmannshausen oft als katholische Enklave bezeichnet. Grund ist die Landesherrschaft des (katholischen) Fürstbistums Würzburg seit dem Mittelalter. Die Orte ringsum gehörten dagegen zum (evangelischen) Herzogtum Sachsen-Meiningen. Erst mit Staatsvertrag zwischen den Herzogtümern Würzburg und Sachsen-Meiningen von 1808 kam Wolfmannshausen an Sachsen-Meiningen. Der überwiegend katholische Glauben blieb jedoch bis heute erhalten. Erwähnenswert ist weiterhin, das Wolfmannshausen sogar zu Zeiten der deutschen Trennung dem Bistum Würzburg angehörte. Die  Ägidiuskirche ist mit einem prächtigen Hochaltar und einer wunderschönen Madonnafigur, die der Schule Tilman Riemenschneider entstammen soll, ausgestattet. Zahlreich erhaltene Apostelfiguren der alten Seitenaltäre und vor allem der sehr gut restaurierten Wandfresken aus der Zeit ihrer Erbauung geben der Kirche ihren besonderen Reiz. Sechs in der Ortsflur verteilte Bildstöcke sowie die in Sandstein gehauenen Kreuzwegstationen auf dem großzügig angelegten Friedhof laden zum Verweilen und Beten ein. Auf halber Strecke zwischen Wolfmannshausen und Queienfeld befindet sich das Gewerbe und Industriegebiet "Untere Hellert" mit attraktiven Betrieben. Auf Grund seiner Größe bietet es noch Platz für Ansiedlung neuer Betriebe. Im Jahr 2006 beging Wolfmannshausen mit einer gelungenen Jahrfeier das Jubiläum seiner 1050. Ersterwähnung. Im Rahmen dieser Feierlichkeiten entstand in einem schönen Fachwerkhauses ein Heimatmuseum, das nunmehr durch einen in der Folge der Jahrfeier gegründeten Heimatverein weitergeführt wird. Der Ortsteil Wolfmannshausen hat eine Einwohnerzahl von 445 und eine Gemarkungsfläche von 804 ha. 

Le quartier de Wolfmannshausen se trouve dans le district de Schmalkalden-Meiningen, à 18 km au sud-est de Meiningen. De loin, Wolfmannshausen accueille déjà ses hôtes avec la pointe de la tour Echter de l' église Ägidiuskirche, construite en 1616. Mentionnée pour la première fois en 956 par une donation du noble Wolmut, à qui Wolfmannshausen doit probablement son nom, elle peut se prévaloir d'une longue histoire mouvementée et extrêmement intéressante. Les amateurs d'archéologie seront particulièrement intéressés par la découverte, en 1996, de nombreux tessons de céramique de la culture de Rössner (céramique imprimée), datant d'environ 3000 avant J.-C., ainsi que de tessons de la céramique en bandes, très rare dans le sud de la Thuringe, qui ont fait la une des journaux. Les habitants de Wolfmannshausen sont pour la plupart de confession catholique. Comme toutes les autres localités des environs sont protestantes, Wolfmannshausen a été et est souvent considérée comme une enclave catholique. La raison en est la domination du prince-évêque (catholique) de Würzburg depuis le Moyen-Âge. Les localités environnantes appartenaient en revanche au duché (protestant) de Saxe-Meiningen. Ce n'est qu'avec le traité d'État de 1808 entre les duchés de Würzburg et de Saxe-Meiningen que Wolfmannshausen a été rattaché à la Saxe-Meiningen. La religion majoritairement catholique a cependant été conservée jusqu'à aujourd'hui. Il convient également de mentionner que Wolfmannshausen faisait partie de l'évêché de Würzburg, même à l'époque de la séparation allemande. L' église Ägidiuskirche est dotée d'un magnifique maître-autel et d'une belle statue de la Madone, qui proviendrait de l'école de Tilman Riemenschneider. Les nombreuses figures d'apôtres conservées des anciens autels latéraux et surtout les fresques murales très bien restaurées datant de l'époque de sa construction donnent à l'église son charme particulier. Six calvaires répartis dans le village ainsi que les stations du chemin de croix taillées dans le grès dans le vaste cimetière invitent à s'attarder et à prier. A mi-chemin entre Wolfmannshausen et Queienfeld se trouve la zone commerciale et industrielle "Untere Hellert" avec des entreprises attrayantes. En raison de sa taille, elle offre encore de la place pour l'implantation de nouvelles entreprises. En 2006, Wolfmannshausen a fêté avec succès le 1050e anniversaire de sa première mention. Dans le cadre de ces festivités, un musée local a été créé dans une belle maison à colombages, qui est désormais géré par une association locale fondée à la suite de la célébration. Le quartier de Wolfmannshausen a une population de 445 habitants et une superficie de 804 hectares.

The district of Wolfmannshausen is located in the district of Schmalkalden-Meiningen, 18 km south-east of Meiningen. Wolfmannshausen greets its guests from afar with the spire of the Echter tower of the Ägidius church built in 1616. First mentioned in 956 as a gift from the nobleman Wolmut, to whom Wolfmannshausen probably owes its name, it can look back on a long, varied and extremely interesting history. It will also be of great interest to archaeology enthusiasts in particular that a find made headlines right here in 1996: numerous pottery shards from the Rössner culture (stamped pottery), which can be dated to around 3000 BC, as well as shards of Linear Pottery, which is quite rare in southern Thuringia. The inhabitants of Wolfmannshausen are predominantly Catholic. As all other villages in the surrounding area are Protestant, Wolfmannshausen was and is often referred to as a Catholic enclave. The reason for this is the sovereignty of the (Catholic) Prince-Bishopric of Würzburg since the Middle Ages. The surrounding villages, on the other hand, belonged to the (Protestant) Duchy of Saxe-Meiningen. Wolfmannshausen only came to Saxony-Meiningen with the state treaty between the Duchies of Würzburg and Saxony-Meiningen in 1808. However, the predominantly Catholic faith has been preserved to this day. It is also worth mentioning that Wolfmannshausen belonged to the diocese of Würzburg even at the time of the German separation. The Ägidiuskirche is furnished with a magnificent high altar and a beautiful Madonna statue, which is said to come from the school of Tilman Riemenschneider. Numerous preserved figures of apostles from the old side altars and, above all, the very well restored wall frescoes from the time of its construction give the church its special charm. Six wayside shrines scattered around the village and the Stations of the Cross carved in sandstone in the spacious cemetery invite you to linger and pray. Halfway between Wolfmannshausen and Queienfeld is the commercial and industrial area "Untere Hellert" with attractive businesses. Due to its size, there is still room for new businesses to settle here. In 2006, Wolfmannshausen celebrated the 1050th anniversary of its first mention with a successful anniversary celebration. As part of these celebrations, a museum of local history was created in a beautiful half-timbered house, which is now run by a local history association founded following the anniversary celebrations.
