Urkundlich wurde Wiegleben erstmalig im Jahre 775 erwähnt. Der Ortsteil zählt 345 Einwohner (Stand 31.12.2019) und gehört seit dem 01.09.1993 zur 7,2 km entfernten Kurstadt Bad Langensalza. Das Dorf ist heute einer der schönsten ländlichen Ortsteile von Bad Langensalza und zugleich der höchstgelegendste, mit herrlichem Blick ins Thüringer Kernland.

Le district compte 345 habitants (au 31.12.2019) et appartient depuis le 01.09.1993 à la ville thermale de Bad Langensalza, située à 7,2 km. Aujourd'hui, le village est l'un des plus beaux districts ruraux de Bad Langensalza et en même temps le plus haut situé, avec une vue magnifique sur le cœur de la Thuringe.
