The Catholic parish church was built between 1489 and 1504, with the main hall being erected in 1497. In the 14th century, there was already a church in Geisa with an altar of the Holy Cross and the foundation of an early mass in 1356. The walls of today's sacristy may date back to this time. Our late Gothic church is characterized by a uniform external appearance made of natural stone with high buttresses and richly varied tracery windows. It can be assumed that the northern outer wall was later broken through and the side aisle added. In the middle of the south side is a stair tower dating from the 16th century, which is no longer used today. The galleries and the carillon can be reached via a stair tower built in 1959 in the south-west corner. A tall square tower with five storeys rises on the west side of the parish church. The portals and windows are also late Gothic. Four gargoyles are located below the gallery. The old tracery parapet was replaced in 1988/89. The tower is crowned by an octagonal half-timbered structure with a Welscher dome, copper-plated in 1988/89. This is followed by the tower knob (barrel) with documentation of past building and restoration work, surmounted by the final cross and the weather vane. Entering the church through the west portal, a high late Gothic church interior opens up, simple but sublime, flooded with light and venerable. The view glides over the dark rows of pews to the right to the sculptures of the Holy Family (late 19th century). This is followed by the church patron saints St. Philip and St. James, created in December 1861. Towards the northern aisle is the stone offering box from 1517. In the immediate vicinity is the richly decorated baptismal font from the time of the church's construction. The pulpit from 1703 has survived from the Baroque interior. In the central aisle, the triumphal arch with the corpus of Christ (around 1500) on the new crossbeam and the men of sorrows in ogival wall openings on the right and left around 1600 are striking. Frescoes from around 1500 are visible on the northern wall tongue. The high choir is opened by the shell limestone altar for the celebration of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and the ambo for proclaiming the word of God. The winged altar with the date 1491 dominates behind it. The parish of Geisa had the surviving wing fragments restored, reworked to preserve the monument and restored as an altarpiece. The life of the Virgin Mary is depicted on the front and the Passion of Christ on the back. Relics of 14 holy martyrs of Rome, sent by Athanasius Kircher in 1665, are displayed in shrines in the high choir or the sacristy. There are two galleries at the west end of the central nave. The Knauf organ from 1848 is installed on the upper one. Since 2003, a carillon (chimes) with 49 bronze bells has also been installed in the tower top alongside the ringing bells.
