Die Leonhardskirche war eine kleine romanische Saalkirche. Ihr Hauptportal ähnelte den Portalen der Peterskirche. Sie wurde bereits 1185 das erste Mal namentlich erwähnt und diente den bis zum Festungsbau stehenden Wohnhäusern am Petersberghang als Pfarrkirche. 1677 wurde sie profaniert und fortan als Zeughaus militärisch genutzt. In den letzten Tagen des Zweiten Weltkriegs wurde die Leonhardskirche nahezu vollständig zerstört.

The Leonhard Church was a small Romanesque hall church. Its main portal resembled the portals of the Peterskirche. It was mentioned by name for the first time as early as 1185 and served as a parish church for the residential houses on the Petersberg slope until the fortress was built. In 1677 it was profaned and from then on used for military purposes as an armoury. In the last days of the Second World War, the Leonhardskirche was almost completely destroyed.
