Der Stadtkern von Bischofsheim ist in Form eines sog. fränkischen Rundlings angelegt und befestigt. Die Stadtmauer, das historische Rentamt und das 26 Meter hohe Wahrzeichen der Stadt, der Zentturm, zeugen von Geschichte und verleihen dem Städtchen ein historisches Flair. Die nachgothische Stadtpfarrkirche mit dem Julius-Echter-Turm, der den Stadtturm sogar noch überragt und die russisch-orthodoxe Kirche sind ebenfalls sehr sehenswert. Der besondere Bezug zur Holzschnitzerei ist in Bischofsheim augenfällig. Holzskulpturen zieren das Stadtbild und zahlreiche Holzbildhauereien haben sich hier niedergelassen. Die älteste Holzschnitzschule Deutschlands, in der man sich zum staatlich anerkannten Holzbildhauer ausbilden lassen kann, ist in Bischofsheim beheimatet. Der neu gestaltete Marktplatz mit seinen beiden markanten gußeisernen Brunnen aus dem 16. Jahrhundert und die urigen Gasthäuser laden zum Verweilen ein. Unweit der Innenstadt, Richtung Bad Kissingen, liegen idyllisch an der Brend das Schwimmbad und der Campingplatz. Neu entstanden sind in den letzten Jahren die Erholungsbereiche am oberen bzw. unteren Eingang zur Altstadt, direkt an der Brend: ein Wasserspielplatz mit Kneipptretbecken im Bach, ein Klangweg mit Spielgeräten sowie im Sommer 2020 die Rollsportanlage "Funpark Four Seasons" mit Pumptracks, Skill-Area, Dirt-Pumptrack, Halfpipe, Basketballfeld und Kunsteisbahn im Winter.
Le centre-ville de Bischofsheim est aménagé et fortifié sous la forme d'un rond-point franconien. Le mur d'enceinte, le bureau des rentes historique et l'emblème de la ville, la tour du centre, haute de 26 mètres, témoignent de l'histoire et confèrent à la petite ville un flair historique. L' église paroissiale post-gothique avec la tour Julius Echter, qui dépasse même la tour de la ville, et l' église orthodoxe russe valent également le détour. Le lien particulier avec la sculpture sur bois est évident à Bischofsheim. Des sculptures en bois ornent le paysage urbain et de nombreux ateliers de sculpture sur bois se sont installés ici. La plus ancienne école de sculpture sur bois d'Allemagne, où l'on peut suivre une formation de sculpteur sur bois reconnue par l'État, se trouve à Bischofsheim. La place du marché réaménagée avec ses deux fontaines en fonte remarquables datant du 16e siècle et les auberges rustiques invitent à la détente. Non loin du centre-ville, en direction de Bad Kissingen, la piscine et le camping se trouvent dans un cadre idyllique sur la Brend. De nouveaux espaces de détente ont été créés ces dernières années à l'entrée supérieure ou inférieure de la vieille ville, directement sur la Brend : une aire de jeux aquatiques avec un bassin Kneipp dans le ruisseau, un chemin sonore avec des jeux ainsi que, en été 2020, le centre de sports à roulettes "Funpark Four Seasons" avec pumptracks, skill area, dirt pumptrack, halfpipe, terrain de basket et patinoire artificielle en hiver.
The town center of Bischofsheim is laid out and fortified in the form of a so-called Franconian roundel. The town wall, the historic rent office and the town's 26-metre-high landmark, the Zentturm tower, bear witness to the town's history and lend it a historic flair. The post-Gothic parish church with the Julius Echter tower, which even towers above the town tower, and the Russian Orthodox church are also well worth a visit. The special connection to wood carving is obvious in Bischofsheim. Wooden sculptures adorn the townscape and numerous woodcarving workshops have set up shop here. Bischofsheim is home to the oldest woodcarving school in Germany, where you can train to become a state-approved woodcarver. The newly designed market square with its two striking cast-iron fountains from the 16th century and the quaint inns invite you to linger. Not far from the town center, in the direction of Bad Kissingen, the swimming pool and campsite are idyllically situated on the Brend. New recreational areas have been created in recent years at the upper and lower entrances to the old town, directly on the Brend: a water playground with Kneipp treading pool in the stream, a sound trail with play equipment and, in summer 2020, the "Funpark Four Seasons" roller sports facility with pump tracks, skills area, dirt pump track, halfpipe, basketball court and artificial ice rink in winter.
