Reifenstein ist ein Ortsteil der Gemeinde Niederorschel am Fuß des mittleren Dün im thüringischen Eichsfeld. In Reifenstein liegt das 1162 gestiftete Kloster Reifenstein. Graf Ernst von Tonna-Gleichen stiftet die am gleichen Ort gelegene  Villa Albolderode dem Zisterzienserorden. 1803 wurde das bestehende Kloster aufgrund einer preußischen Kabinettsorder aufgelöst und in eine staatliche Domäne umgewandelt.

Reifenstein est un quartier de la commune de Niederorschel, au pied du Dün moyen, dans l'Eichsfeld thuringien. C'est à Reifenstein que se trouve le monastère de Reifenstein, fondé en 1162. Le comte Ernst von Tonna-Gleichen fait don de la villa Albolderode, située au même endroit, à l'ordre cistercien. En 1803, le monastère existant est dissous suite à un ordre du cabinet prussien et transformé en domaine public.

Reifenstein is a district of the municipality Niederorschel at the foot of the middle Dün in the Thuringian Eichsfeld. The Reifenstein Monastery, founded in 1162, is located in Reifenstein. Count Ernst von Tonna-Gleichen donated the villa Albolderode, located at the same place, to the Cistercian Order. In 1803 the existing monastery was dissolved due to a Prussian cabinet order and converted into a state domain.
