About: Unterschönau

Die erste urkundliche Erwähnung fand der kleine Ort mit dem Namen "Schönau" im Jahre 1362. Ausgangspunktfür die Siedlungsentwicklung im Schönaugrund war zu dieser Zeit ein Eisenhammer, der unterhalb der Burg "Hallenburg" verzeichnet war und der zu den ältesten Zeugen für das traditionreiche Eisenhandwerk in der Region zählt. Unterschönau nannte man den Ort vom Jahre 1584 an. Heute ist Unterschönau durch die schöne Lage zwischen Oberhof und Steinbach-Hallenbergund durch die Nähe zum Rennsteig ein beliebter Ausgangspunkt für Wander- und Mountainbiketouren sowie für Skiwanderungen.

Le point de départ du développement de l'établissement de Schönaugrund à cette époque était un marteau en fer, qui était répertorié sous le château "Hallenburg" et qui est l'un des plus anciens témoins du commerce traditionnel du fer dans la région. Le village s'est appelé Unterschönau à partir de 1584. Aujourd'hui, la belle situation d'Unterschönau entre Oberhof et Steinbach-Hallenberg et sa proximité avec le sentier Rennsteig en font un point de départ populaire pour les randonnées, le VTT et les excursions à ski.

The first documented mention of the small village with the name "Schönau" was in 1362. The starting point for the development of the settlement in the Schönaugrund was at that time an iron hammer, which was listed below the castle "Hallenburg" and which is one of the oldest witnesses to the traditional iron trade in the region. The village was called Unterschönau from 1584 on. Today Unterschönau is a popular starting point for hiking and mountain bike tours as well as skiing tours due to its beautiful location between Oberhof and Steinbach-Hallenberg and its proximity to the Rennsteig.
