Die Gemeinde Gamstädt zählt mit dem Ortsteil Kleinrettbach rund 800 Einwohner und liegt verkehrsgünstig an der Bundesstraße 7 auf halber Strecke zwischen Gotha im Westen und Erfurt im Osten. In Gamstädt wie auch im Ortsteil Kleinrettbach hat, auf Grund des fruchtbaren Bodens, die Landwirtschaft die Entwicklung der Orte geprägt. Gamstädt hat ein attraktives Wohngebiet mit 48 Wohneinheiten in 9 Mehrfamilienhäusern. In Kleinrettbach wurde am südlichen Ortsrand in Richtung Neudietendorf ein Wohngebiet erschlossen. Hier werden ständig neue Eigenheime nach den individuellen Vorstellungen der Bauherren errichtet. Gamstädt ist heute Ortsteil der Landgemeinde Nesse-Apfelstädt.

La commune de Gamstädt, qui comprend le quartier de Kleinrettbach, compte environ 800 habitants et est idéalement située sur la route nationale B7, à mi-chemin entre Gotha à l'ouest et Erfurt à l'est. À Gamstädt, comme dans le district de Kleinrettbach, l'agriculture a façonné le développement des villages en raison de la fertilité du sol. Gamstädt possède une zone résidentielle attrayante avec 48 unités de logement dans 9 immeubles d'habitation. À Kleinrettbach, une zone résidentielle a été développée à la limite sud du village en direction de Neudietendorf. De nouvelles maisons sont constamment construites ici, selon les idées individuelles des propriétaires. Gamstädt fait maintenant partie de la municipalité rurale de Nesse-Apfelstädt.

The municipality of Gamstädt, including the district of Kleinrettbach, has a population of around 800 and is conveniently located on the B7 trunk road halfway between Gotha in the west and Erfurt in the east. In Gamstädt as well as in the district of Kleinrettbach, agriculture has shaped the development of the villages due to the fertile soil. Gamstädt has an attractive residential area with 48 housing units in 9 apartment buildings. In Kleinrettbach a residential area was developed at the southern edge of the village in the direction of Neudietendorf. New homes are constantly being built here according to the individual ideas of the owners. Today Gamstädt is a district of the rural community Nesse-Apfelstädt.
