Im Weimarer Ortsteil Holzdorf stellt das Landgut der Diakonie Weimar-Bad Lobenstein einen Ort bedeutender Kulturhistorie dar. Im Jahr 1917 erwarb der Mannheimer Industrielle Dr. Otto Krebs den der Stadt Weimar nahe gelegenen Herrensitz und ließ ihn zu repräsentativen Wohnzwecken umbauen. Noch heute zeugen Intarsien, Parkett, Ledertapeten, kostbare Kassetten- und Stuckdecken von dem prunk­vollen Interieur. Das Ensemble rundete er mit einer Parkanlage im französischen Stil ab. Damit schuf der Kunstsammler an der Peripherie Weimars den passenden Rahmen für eine private Sammlung ganz besonderer Qualität. Unter den den rund einhundert Gemälden befanden sich Arbeiten von Cézanne, Renoir, van Gogh, Gauguin, Picasso, Degas, Monet und Matisse.

In the Holzdorf district of Weimar, the estate of the Diakonie Weimar-Bad Lobenstein is a place of significant cultural history. In 1917, the Mannheim industrialist Dr. Otto Krebs acquired the manor house, which is close to the city of Weimar, and had it converted into a prestigious residence. Even today, inlays, parquet flooring, leather wallpaper, precious coffered and stucco ceilings bear witness to the magnificent interior. He rounded off the ensemble with a French-style park. In this way, the art collector created a fitting setting on the outskirts of Weimar for a private collection of very special quality. Among the approximately one hundred paintings were works by Cézanne, Renoir, van Gogh, Gauguin, Picasso, Degas, Monet and Matisse.

Dans le quartier Holzdorf de Weimar, le domaine de la Diakonie Weimar-Bad Lobenstein est un lieu d'histoire culturelle important : En 1917, le Dr. Otto Krebs, un industriel et collectionneur d´art de Mannheim, acquit le manoir, situé à proximité de la ville de Weimar, et le fit transformer en une résidence de prestige. Aujourd'hui encore, les marqueteries, les parquets, les papiers peints en cuir, les précieux plafonds à caissons et en stuc (enduit de marbre blanc) témoignent de la magnificence de l'intérieur. Il compléta l'ensemble par un parc à la française. De cette façon, le collectionneur d'art créa un cadre idéal pour une collection privée de grande qualité en périphérie de Weimar. Parmi la centaine de tableaux, on trouvait des œuvres de Cézanne, Renoir, van Gogh, Gauguin, Picasso, Degas, Monet et Matisse, avant qu´ils ne soient transportés par l´Union Soviétique à St Pétersbourg, puis jamais restitués.
