1859 wurde die Orgel von Johann Gottlob Töpfer disponiert und von den Gebrüdern Peternell in Seligenthal für die Dorfkirche Denstedt gebaut. Franz Liszt und Alexander Wilhelm Gottschalg führten an ihr " Orgelconferencen" durch, weil sie sie als angemessen für ihre Orgelmusik ansahen. 1980 wurde die Orgel wiederentdeckt und mit dem Namen "Liszt-Orgel" überregional bekannt gemacht. Eine Generalreparatur erfolgte im Jahr 1993 dank Sponsoren. Seit über 40 Jahren werden wieder Konzerte an der Orgel in der Kirche Denstedt gespielt.
In 1859, the organ was designed by Johann Gottlob Töpfer and built by the Peternell brothers in Seligenthal for the village church in Denstedt. Franz Liszt and Alexander Wilhelm Gottschalg held “organ recitals” there because they considered it suitable for their organ music. In 1980, the organ was rediscovered and gained national recognition under the name “Liszt Organ.” A complete restoration took place in 1993 thanks to sponsors. For over 40 years now, concerts have once again been performed on the organ in the Denstedt church.
