Zella est un quartier de la municipalité d'Anrode dans le district d'Unstrut-Hainich et appartient à l'Obereichsfeld historique. Le village se trouve au nord-ouest de Mühlhausen, sur l'Unstrut, en bordure du versant sud de la Dün. Mentionnée pour la première fois dans des documents au début du 13e siècle, l'histoire du village est étroitement liée à l'histoire mouvementée du domaine de Breitenbich, qui se trouve à un kilomètre à l'est. Le monastère de Breitenbich est mentionné pour la première fois dans un document en 1249. En 1253, le lieu est à nouveau abandonné, le couvent déménage d'abord à Mühlhausen, puis à Anrode. En 1253, les biens reviennent à l'ordre des chevaliers de Saint Lazare qui y fondent un établissement. La région a appartenu à l'ordre jusqu'à la fin du 15e siècle, puis à la Kommende Gotha, qui appartenait aux Johanniterorden. Au XVIe siècle, un domaine agricole a été constitué avec les zones, les propriétaires ont changé plus fréquemment au cours des siècles suivants. Aujourd'hui, le domaine abrite des appartements de vacances. Le Mühlhäuser Landgraben, un rempart de la ville de district et ancienne ville impériale libre de Mühlhausen, qui passe directement devant Zella, mérite d'être vu. Construit au milieu du XIVe siècle, il servait à protéger les biens royaux des raids des barons voleurs. Le Mühlhäuser Landgraben, long de 26 km, peut être parcouru sur toute sa longueur par un sentier de randonnée. D'autres destinations d'excursion intéressantes dans la région sont le parc national de Hainich, la tourbière sacrificielle de Vogtei, un site de culte préhistorique, à Niederdorla, et le viaduc ferroviaire de Lengenfeld unterm Stein, qui fait partie de la voie ferrée désaffectée du canon d'Eichsfeld. Les deux sont praticables aujourd'hui avec des trolleys à vélo. Les amateurs de nature active peuvent découvrir Zella et la région de la municipalité d'Anrode sur la piste cyclable d'Unstrut, qui traverse directement le village.

Zella is a district of the municipality of Anrode in the Unstrut-Hainich district and belongs to the historic Obereichsfeld. The village lies northwest of Mühlhausen on the Unstrut on the edge of the southern slope of the Dün. First mentioned in documents at the beginning of the 13th century, the history of the village is closely linked to the eventful history of the Breitenbich estate, which lies one kilometre to the east. The Breitenbich monastery was first mentioned in a document in 1249. In the year 1253 the place was given up again, the convent moved first to Mühlhausen, later to Anrode. In 1253 the possessions went to the knight order of Saint Lazarus who founded a settlement there. The area belonged to the order until the end of the 15th century, afterwards to the Kommende Gotha, which belonged to the Johanniterorden. In the 16th century an agricultural estate was built up with the areas, the owners changed more frequently in the following centuries. Today the estate houses holiday apartments. Worth seeing is the Mühlhäuser Landgraben, a rampart of the district town and former free imperial city of Mühlhausen, which leads directly past Zella. Built in the middle of the 14th century, it served to protect the royal property from robber baron raids. The entire length of the 26 km long Mühlhäuser Landgraben can be hiked on a footpath. Other worthwhile excursion destinations in the area are the Hainich National Park, the Vogtei sacrificial bog, a prehistoric cult site, in Niederdorla and the railway viaduct in Lengenfeld unterm Stein as part of the disused Eichsfeld cannon railway. Both are passable today with bicycle trolleys. Active nature lovers can discover Zella and the area of the municipality of Anrode on the Unstrut cycle path, which leads directly through the village.

Zella ist ein Ortsteil der Landgemeinde Stadt Dingelstädt im Landkreis Eichsfeld und gehört zum historischen Obereichsfeld. Das Dorf liegt nordwestlich von Mühlhausen an der Unstrut am Rande des Südhangs der Dün. Erstmals zu Beginn des 13. Jahrhunderts urkundlich erwähnt, ist die Geschichte des Dorfes eng mit der wechselvollen Geschichte des einen Kilometer östlich gelegenen Gutes Breitenbich verbunden. Das Kloster Breitenbich wurde 1249 erstmals urkundlich erwähnt. Im Jahre 1253 wurde der Ort wieder aufgegeben, der Konvent zog zunächst nach Mühlhausen, später nach Anrode um. 1253 gingen die Besitzungen an den Ritterorden des Heiligen Lazarus, der dort eine Niederlassung gründete. Dem Orden gehörte das Gebiet bis zum Ende des 15. Jahrhunderts, danach der Kommende Gotha, die dem Johanniterorden angehörte. Im 16. Jahrhundert wurde mit den Flächen ein landwirtschaftliches Gut aufgebaut, die Eigentümer wechselten in den folgenden Jahrhunderten häufiger. Heute beherbergt das Anwesen Ferienwohnungen. Sehenswert ist der Mühlhäuser Landgraben, eine Wallanlage der Kreisstadt und ehemaligen freien Reichsstadt Mühlhausen, die direkt an Zella vorbeiführt. Mitte des 14. Jahrhunderts erbaut, diente er dem Schutz des königlichen Besitzes vor Raubritterüberfällen. Die gesamte Länge des 26 km langen Mühlhäuser Landgrabens kann auf einem Fußweg erwandert werden. Weitere lohnende Ausflugsziele in der Umgebung sind der Nationalpark Hainich, das Opfermoor Vogtei, eine prähistorische Kultstätte, in Niederdorla und das Eisenbahnviadukt in Lengenfeld unterm Stein als Teil der stillgelegten Eichsfelder Kanonenbahn. Beide sind heute mit Fahrraddraisinen befahrbar. Aktive Naturfreunde können Zella und das Gebiet der Gemeinde Anrode auf dem Unstrut-Radweg entdecken, der direkt durch den Ort führt.
