Ein breit angelegter Sanierungsprozess, begleitet von Förderprogrammen und kreativen Stadtentwicklungsprojekten, verwandelte das historische Gemäuer in ein vielfältig nutzbares Kulturzentrum. Neben Café, Pension, Ausstellung und Servicepoint der KomBus entstand im Anbau – der ehemaligen Güterhalle – ein atmosphärischer Veranstaltungsraum. Nach fast einem Jahrzehnt Planung, Umbau und Beteiligung wurde der Kulturbahnhof am 6. Dezember 2024 feierlich eröffnet – als Symbol für Heimat, Wandel und neues Leben im Herzen Bad Lobensteins. After the town acquired the listed building, which was built in 1895, from Deutsche Bahn in 2014, it was transformed into a modern "welcome center" with a great deal of commitment and support from the local community. A broad-based renovation process, accompanied by funding programs and creative urban development projects, transformed the historic building into a versatile cultural center. In addition to a café, guesthouse, exhibition space, and KomBus service point, an atmospheric event space was created in the annex—the former freight depot. After almost a decade of planning, renovation, and participation, the Kulturbahnhof was officially opened on December 6, 2024—as a symbol of home, change, and new life in the heart of Bad Lobenstein.
