Bruchstedt a été mentionné pour la première fois en 775 dans le registre de propriété de Hersfeld, Brevarium santi Lulli. Pendant plusieurs siècles, Bruchstedt a appartenu à la principauté de Schwarzburg-Sondershausen et a été ajouté au royaume de Prusse par un accord d'échange le 15 juin 1816. Le 05.03.1847, la très vieille et délabrée "Nikolaikirche" a été démolie. La tour, cependant, est restée. Le 12 avril 1847, la première pierre de la nouvelle église a été posée et le 25 novembre 1847, la consécration de l'église achevée a pu avoir lieu. Elle porte le nom de "Johanneskirche". Entre 2009 et 2016, l'église a été partiellement rénovée. De 1920 à 1967, notre établissement était relié à la ligne de chemin de fer Bad Langensalza- Haussömmern. Aujourd'hui, l'ancien remblai de la voie ferrée est utilisé comme piste cyclable et fait partie du K2. 1950 : la municipalité atteint une triste notoriété. Le 23.05.1950, une tempête dévastatrice s'est abattue sur la ville et a dévasté 60 % des habitants. 8 personnes ont perdu la vie. Lors d'une action de secours spectaculaire de l'ancienne RDA, le village a été reconstruit en seulement 50 jours. En plus de la reconstruction des fermes, un centre culturel, une nouvelle école et un jardin d'enfants ont été construits. La maison de la culture avec sa belle et grande salle est aujourd'hui sous la protection des monuments. Ces dernières années, l'école et le jardin d'enfants ont été transformés en un centre de soutien pour les enfants et les jeunes handicapés mentaux. Chaque année, le 23.05., les 8 victimes de la catastrophe des inondations sont commémorées lors d'une cérémonie et d'un service religieux. Chaque année, les habitants de Bruchstedt et leurs invités célèbrent l'action de secours sans précédent avec le festival de la reconstruction. Les épreuves annuelles de motocross sur la piste de course située à la limite est du village ont une longue tradition.

Bruchstedt was first mentioned in the Hersfeld property register Brevarium santi Lulli in 775. For several centuries Bruchstedt belonged to the principality of Schwarzburg-Sondershausen and was added to the Kingdom of Prussia by an exchange agreement on 15 June 1816. On 05.03.1847 the very old and dilapidated "Nikolaikirche" was demolished. The tower, however, remained. Already on 12.04.1847 the foundation stone of the new church was laid and on 25.11.1847 the consecration of the completed church could take place. It bears the name "Johanneskirche". In the period between 2009 - 2016 the church was partially renovated. From 1920 to 1967 our place had connection to the railway line Bad Langensalza- Haussömmern. Today the former railway embankment is used as a cycle path and is part of the K2. 1950 the municipality attained sad notoriety. The place was afflicted on 23.05.1950 by a devastating storm and devastated to 60%. 8 people lost their lives. In a spectacular relief action of the former GDR the village was rebuilt in only 50 days. In addition to the reconstruction of the farms, a cultural centre, a new school and a kindergarten were built. The culture house with its beautiful large hall is today under monument protection. The school and the kindergarten have been converted into a support centre for mentally handicapped children and young people in recent years. Every year on 23.05. the 8 victims of the flood disaster are remembered in a commemoration ceremony and a church service. Every year, the people of Bruchstedt and their guests celebrate the unprecedented relief action with the reconstruction festival. The annual motocross events on the race track on the eastern edge of the village have a long tradition.

Bruchstedt wurde im Hersfelder Güterverzeichnis Brevarium santi Lulli im Jahre 775 das erste Mal erwähnt. Über mehrere Jahrhunderte gehörte Bruchstedt zum Fürstentum Schwarzburg-Sondershausen und wurde durch Tauschvertrag am 15.06.1816 dem Königreich Preußen zugeschlagen. Am 05.03.1847 wurde die sehr alte und baufällige „Nikolaikirche“ abgerissen. Der Turm blieb allerdings erhalten. Bereits am 12.04.1847 wurde der Grundstein zum neuen Gotteshaus gelegt, und am 25.11.1847 konnte die Einweihung der vollendeten Kirche stattfinden. Sie trägt den Namen „Johanneskirche“. In dem Zeitraum zwischen 2009–2016 wurde die Kirche teilsaniert. Von 1920 bis 1967 hatte unser Ort Anschluss an die Bahnlinie Bad Langensalza- Haussömmern. Heute wird der ehemalige Bahndamm als Radweg genutzt und ist Teil des K2. 1950 erlangte die Gemeinde traurige Berühmtheit. Der Ort wurde am 23.05.1950 durch ein verheerendes Unwetter heimgesucht und zu 60 % verwüstet. Acht Menschen mussten ihr Leben lassen. In einer spektakulären Hilfsaktion der damaligen DDR wurde der Ort in nur 50 Tagen wiederaufgebaut. Neben dem Wiederaufbau der Bauerngehöfte entstanden unter anderem ein Kulturhaus, eine neue Schule und ein Kindergarten. Das Kulturhaus mit seinem schönen großen Saal steht heute unter Denkmalschutz. Die Schule und der Kindergarten wurden in den letzten Jahren zum Förderzentrum für geistig behinderte Kinder und Jugendliche umgebaut. Jedes Jahr am 23. Mai wird in einer Gedenkveranstaltung sowie einem Gottesdienst an die acht Opfer der Hochwasserkatastrophe erinnert. Mit dem Wiederaufbaufest feiern die Bruchstedter und ihre Gäste jedes Jahr die beispiellose Hilfsaktion. Eine lange Tradition haben die alljährlich stattfindenden Motocross-Veranstaltungen auf der Rennstrecke am östlichen Ortsrand.
