Avec l'augmentation du nombre d'habitants, une église plus grande, puis très délabrée, a vu le jour. Il fut donc nécessaire de poser la première pierre d'une nouvelle église en 1652. En 1656, l'église actuelle fut inaugurée par le pasteur Clemen.

Im Jahr 1656 wurde die heutige Stadtkirche durch Pfarrer Clemen eingeweiht, doch folgten noch zahlreiche Ausbauten, bevor der heutige Zustand erreicht war.
