Die ehemalige Pfeffermühle wurde 1371 erbaut. Sie wurde erst als Senfmühle und später als Mahl- und Gewürzmühle genutzt. Ab dem Jahr 1751 arbeitete sie als Walk-, Loh- und Waschmühle. Ab 1858 erfolgte der Einbau eines Dampfkessels und im Jahr 1890 der Abbau des Wasserrades. Zum Abriss des Gebäudes und der Errichtung von Neubauten auf dem Areal (heutiges Jakobiviertel) kam es im Jahr 1987. Der ehemalige Türsturz konnte bewahrt werden und befindet sich heute im Lapidarium hinter der Kornmarktkirche.
L'ancien moulin à poivre a été construit en 1371. Il a d'abord été utilisé comme moulin à moutarde, puis comme moulin à moudre et à épices. À partir de 1751, il a fonctionné comme moulin à foulon, moulin à tan et moulin à laver. À partir de 1858, une chaudière à vapeur a été installée et en 1890, la roue à eau a été démontée. La démolition du bâtiment et la construction de nouveaux bâtiments sur le site (l'actuel quartier Jakobi) ont eu lieu en 1987. L'ancien linteau de porte a pu être conservé et se trouve aujourd'hui dans le lapidaire derrière l'église Kornmarkt.
The former pepper mill was built in 1371. It was first used as a mustard mill and later as a grinding and spice mill. From 1751 it worked as a fulling, tanning and washing mill. In 1858 a steam boiler was installed and in 1890 the water wheel was dismantled. The demolition of the building and the construction of new buildings on the site (today's Jakobiviertel) took place in 1987. The former door lintel was preserved and is now located in the Lapidarium behind the Kornmarkt Church.
