Die Geschichte des Promenadenweges beginnt im Jahre 1822 mit dem Wunsch der Großherzogin Pawlowna, einen Weg zwischen den Schlössern Tiefurt und Kromsdorf anlegen zu lassen, um trockenen Fußes von einem zum anderen zu gelangen. Erst 20 Jahre nach ihrem Tod (1879) erfüllt sich diese Herzensangelegenheit, da sich die Bauern lange Zeit gegen einen durch ihre Flure führenden "Herrenweg" sperrten.

L'histoire du parcours commence en 1822 avec le souhait de la grande-duchesse Pawlowna de faire aménager un chemin entre les châteaux de Tiefurt et Kromsdorf afin de pouvoir passer de l'un à l'autre à sec. Ce souhait cher à son cœur ne se réalisa qu'un vingtaine d'années après sa mort (1879), car les paysans s'opposaient longtemps à un « chemin seigneurial » traversant leurs champs.

The history of the promenade route begins in 1822 with the wish of Grand Duchess Pawlowna to have a path laid out between the castles Tiefurt and Kromsdorf, to be able to walk from one to the other on dry feet. Only 20 years after her death (1879) was this heartfelt wish fulfilled, as the farmers long resisted a "lord's path" running through their fields.
