Die Skitour beginnt am Parkplatz des Skiliftes Wurzbach. Nach ca. 2 km erreicht man einen Abzweig. Hier beginnen und enden zwei Rundwege von 3,5 und 5,0 km Länge. Die Wetzsteinstrecke hingegen passiert diesen Abzweig und führt weiter in Richtung Lehesten. Der Skiläufer muss nun einen rund 1,5 km langen mittleren Anstieg hinauf auf eine Anhöhe bewältigen. Für die Mühen des Anstiegs wird er jedoch durch den schönen Blick auf das Ziel seiner Tour, den Altvaterturm auf dem 793 m hohen Wetzstein, belohnt. Der weitere Streckenverlauf mittleren Schwierigkeitsgrades führt über die Straße Heberndorf-Röttersdorf an einem Parkplatz vorbei. Wer den beschriebenen Anstieg scheut, kann auch von hier aus in den Skiwanderweg einsteigen. Nach etwas 1 km Laufens über offene Flur erreicht man die Loipe "Rund um den Wetzstein" der Stadt Lehesten, auf der das letzte Stück der Tour zurück gelegt wird. Nach ca. 1,5 km erreicht man den "Altvaterturm". Nach einer gemütlichen Einkehr kann es dann auf gleicher Strecke zurück nach Wurzbach gehen.

La sortie à ski commence au parking du téléski de Wurzbach. Après environ 2 km, on atteint une bifurcation. Deux parcours circulaires de 3,5 et 5,0 km commencent et se terminent ici. Le parcours Wetzstein, quant à lui, passe cette bifurcation et continue en direction de Lehesten. Le skieur doit maintenant gravir une montée moyenne d'environ 1,5 km jusqu'à une hauteur. Les efforts de la montée sont toutefois récompensés par la belle vue sur la destination de sa sortie, la tour Altvater, sur le Wetzstein, haut de 793 m. La suite du parcours de difficulté moyenne passe par la route Heberndorf-Röttersdorf en longeant un parking. Ceux qui veulent éviter cette montée peuvent aussi commencer la randonnée à ski d'ici. Après environ 1 km de traversée à découvert, on atteint la piste "Autour du Wetzstein" de la ville de Lehesten, où se termine le dernier tronçon de la sortie. Après environ 1,5 km, on atteint la "tour Altvater". Après une halte agréable, on peut retourner à Wurzbach par le même chemin.

The ski tour starts at the parking lot of the Wurzbach ski lift. After about 2 km, you reach a fork. Here two loop trails of 3.5 and 5.0 km length start and end. The Wetzstein route, however, passes this fork and continues toward Lehesten. The skier must now overcome a medium 1.5 km ascent to a hilltop. The effort of the ascent is rewarded with a beautiful view of the tour’s goal, the Altvaterturm on the 793 m high Wetzstein. The further route of medium difficulty passes the Heberndorf-Röttersdorf road by a parking lot. Those who want to avoid the described ascent can also start the ski hiking trail from here. After about 1 km over open terrain, you reach the "Around the Wetzstein" trail of the town of Lehesten, on which the last stretch of the tour is completed. After about 1.5 km you reach the "Altvaterturm". After a cozy stop for refreshment, you can return on the same route back to Wurzbach.
