Umgebaut zu einem Artenschutzturm ist es so ausgestattet, dass Fledermäuse, Waldkäuze, Bachstelzen, Hausrotschwänze und Hornissen dort Quartier bezogen haben. Von diesem Weg aus erreicht man auch die Waldquelle mit Rastplatz.</p> <p>Gehen wir am Ufer weiter, erkennen wir den ursprünglichen Flusslauf der Weida mit einer Insel auf der regelmäßig Schwäne und Wasservögel brüten. Rechts führt der Talsperrenweg durch ein Feuchtgebiet direkt nach Läwitz. Wahrzeichen des Ortes ist die 1925 erbaute Steinbogenbrücke über die Weida, die seit 1977 unter Denkmalschutz steht. Neben der Brücke befindet sich die Kesselmühle, eine der wenigen Wassermühlen, die durch den Bau der Talsperre nicht überflutet wurden (Von dort kann man den Weidatalweg weiter bis zur Quelleverfolgen). Nach Querung der historischen Steinbogenbrücke passieren wir am Ortseingang Läwitz den Rastplatz mit Infotafel. Dem Talsperrenweg weiter folgend erreichen wir nach ca. 1,5 km den Damm der Vorsperre. Über die Straße auf dem Staudamm führt uns der Weg, vorbei am Einlaufbauwerk, zum Ausgangspunkt.</p>
