Vous commencez votre parcours directement au parking de la Schnetter Straße et suivez le sentier de randonnée balisé vers le nord en traversant la route principale. Le trajet monte fortement pendant le premier kilomètre le long du Hühnerbach jusqu'à environ la moitié du Kreiseberg, puis fait un crochet à gauche le long du flanc de la montagne. Bientôt, vous atteignez l'"Insel" non loin de l'ancien Hexentanzplatz : temps pour une première pause. Autour de la tête de hêtre, le chemin continue ensuite en direction de Steinbach. Ici se trouve le plus grand théâtre en plein air d'Allemagne. Ensuite, vous remontez bientôt vers la vue sur la Franconie. De là, vous avez un magnifique panorama sur la vallée de la Schleuse et sur le barrage Ratscher. Les jours ensoleillés, vous pouvez voir profondément en Franconie et jusqu'à Bad Königshofen. Le chemin continue à travers les profondes forêts de hêtres mixtes vers le nord jusqu'à une altitude de 750 m. À la Hohe Straße, qui relie Frauenwald à Steinbach, une nouvelle pause s'impose. En suivant toujours le Kreiseberg, vous atteignez bientôt le "Marronnier". Le sentier de randonnée descend ensuite calmement dans la vallée jusqu'à Schönbrunn. Avant de revenir au parking, pour ceux qui ont encore un peu de place dans leur programme de marche, une visite du musée des épices de Schönbrunn est un véritable conseil secret. Ici, ce n'est pas seulement votre nez qui profite. Schönbrunn abrite l'un des producteurs d'épices les plus connus d'Allemagne : la Fuchs GmbH & Co. KG L'église St. Jakobus de Schönbrunn mérite également une visite. C'est l'une des plus anciennes églises de Thuringe, dont la structure d'origine est encore largement conservée aujourd'hui. Les jours chauds, la piscine en terrasse de Schönbrunn invite aussi à un rafraîchissement.

You start your route directly at the parking lot on Schnetter Straße and follow the signposted hiking trail northwards across the main street. The trail leads you steeply uphill along the Hühnerbach in the first kilometer up to about halfway up the Kreisberg, then hooks left along the mountainside. Shortly, you reach the "Island" near the old witches' dance floor: time for a first rest. Then the route continues around the Buchenkopf towards Steinbach. Here you will find Germany's largest open-air theatre. Through the town, the trail soon climbs again to the Frankenblick. From here you have a magnificent view into the Schleuse valley and to the Ratscher reservoir. On sunny days, you can see deep into Franconia and towards Bad Königshofen. Next, the route leads through deep beech mixed forests northwards to up to 750 m elevation. At the Hohe Straße, which connects Frauenwald with Steinbach, it's time for another short break. Always further along the Kreisberg, you soon reach the "Chestnut". From here, the hiking trail gently descends back into the valley to Schönbrunn. Before you head back to the parking lot, for those with a bit more energy, a visit to the Schönbrunn Spice Museum is a real insider tip. Not only your nose will benefit here. Schönbrunn is home to one of Germany's most well-known spice producers: Fuchs GmbH & Co. KG The Schönbrunn church of St. Jacob is also worth a visit. It is one of Thuringia's oldest churches, largely preserved today in its original construction. On hot days, the terrace pool in Schönbrunn invites you for a refreshing break.

Sie starten Ihre Tour am Wanderparkplatz in Steinbach. Durch den Ort geht es bergauf zum Aussichtspunkt Frankenblick. Von hier haben Sie eine herrliche Weitsicht bis  bis tief ins Frankenland zu den Gleichbergen. Weiter geht es durch die tiefen Buchen-Mischwälder auf bis zu 750 m Höhe. An der Hohen Straße, welche Frauenwald mit Steinbach verbindet, wird es abermals Zeit für eine kurze Verschnaufpause. Immer weiter am Kreiseberg entlang erreichen Sie bald die "Kastanie". Von hier aus führt der Wanderweg gemächlich ins Tal nach Schönbrunn hinab. Bevor Sie sich wieder auf den Weg zum Parkplatz machen ist für alle, die noch etwas Platz in ihrem Laufpensum haben, ein Besuch des Schönbrunner Gewürzmuseums ein echter Geheimtipp. Nicht nur die Nase kommt hier auf Ihre Kosten. In Schönbrunn ist nämlich einer der bekanntesten Gewürzproduzenten in Deutschland ansässig: Die Fuchs GmbH & Co. KG. Auch die Schönbrunner Kirche St. Jakobus ist einen Besuch wert. Sie ist eine der ältesten Kirchen Thüringens, welche heute in ihrer Bausubstanz noch weitestgehend im Original erhalten ist. An heißen Tagen lädt auch das Terrassenbad in Schönbrunn zu einer Abkühlung ein. Die Strecke führt Sie von Schönbrunn weiter streng bergan im Hühnerbach entlang. Bald erreichen Sie die "Insel" unweit des alten Hexentanzplatzes. Um den Buchenkopf herum geht es dann weiter Richtung Steinbach zu ihrem Ausgangspunkt. Hier befindet sich Deutschlands größtes Naturtheater.
