Die Städtischen Museen Gera beteiligen sich auch in diesem Jahr am Internationalen Museumstag und rücken damit ihre wichtige gesellschaftliche Rolle in den Mittelpunkt. Museen sind unverzichtbare Orte des kulturellen Austauschs. Sie bewahren und präsentieren wertvolle Kulturgüter und fördern weltweit Verständigung, Toleranz und Vielfalt. Seit Einführung im Jahr 1978 wird der Internationale Museumstag jährlich begangen; 2025 besuchten 60 000 Menschen die fünf Museumsstandorte in Gera. Alle Besucherinnen und Besucher erwarten bei freiem Eintritt ein vielfältiges Programm mit besonderen Angeboten, Aktionen und Einblicken. Orangerie: Die Ausstellung „Otto Dix – Trau deinen Augen“ in der Orangerie eröffnet einen eindrucksvollen Einblick in die Gedankenwelt und das vielschichtige Schaffen des ebenso leidenschaftlichen wie widersprüchlichen Jahrhundertmalers Otto Dix. Im Mittelpavillon wird zudem die Sonderausstellung „Bravo Gera! 100 Jahre tänzerischer Aufbruch“ präsentiert. Um 14 Uhr führt Kurator und Kulturamtsleiter Felix Eckerle durch die Ausstellung und gibt spannende Einblicke, wie Yvonne Georgie die Entwicklungen des modernen Ausdruckstanzes nach Gera brachte und für Furore sorgte.
The Gera Municipal Museums are once again participating in International Museum Day this year, highlighting their important role in society. Museums are indispensable venues for cultural exchange. They preserve and showcase valuable cultural assets and promote understanding, tolerance, and diversity worldwide. Since its inception in 1978, International Museum Day has been celebrated annually; in 2025, 60,000 people visited the five museum locations in Gera.All visitors can expect a diverse program with special offers, activities, and insights—all with free admission. Orangery: The exhibition “Otto Dix – Trust Your Eyes” in the Orangery offers a striking insight into the inner world and multifaceted oeuvre of the passionate yet contradictory painter of the century, Otto Dix. The Central Pavilion will also host the special exhibition “Bravo Gera! 100 Years of Dance Innovation.” At 2 p.m., curator and head of the cultural office Felix Eckerle will guide visitors through the exhibition and provide fascinating insights into how Yvonne Georgie brought the developments of modern expressive dance to Gera and caused a sensation.
