Auf dieser anspruchsvollen Tour erlebt man die Rhön in all ihren Facetten mit Buchenwäldern, Basaltblockhalden und Bergwiesen. Kleine Bachläufe kreuzen teilweise die Pfade und der Basaltfelsen „Kalte Buche“ lädt mit einer imposanten Aussicht zum Verweilen ein. Am Basaltsee, einem ehemaligen und nun mit Wasser gefüllten Steinbruch, besteht die Möglichkeit zur Einkehr. Der landschaftlich sehr attraktive Wanderweg verläuft größtenteils auf gut zu begehenden Naturwegen. Ruhebänke und Sitzgruppen für die Rast sind reichlich vorhanden.

Lors de ce parcours exigeant, vous découvrirez toutes les facettes de la Rhön avec ses forêts de hêtres, ses éboulis de basalte et ses prairies de montagne. De petits ruisseaux croisent parfois les sentiers et le rocher basaltique « Kalte Buche » invite à une pause avec une vue impressionnante. Au lac de basalte, une ancienne carrière aujourd'hui remplie d'eau, il est possible de faire une pause gourmande. Le sentier de randonnée, très attrayant sur le plan paysager, suit pour la plupart des chemins naturels faciles à parcourir. Des bancs de repos et des groupes de sièges pour la pause sont abondants.

On this challenging route, you experience the Rhön in all its facets with beech forests, basalt block fields, and mountain meadows. Small streams partly cross the paths, and the basalt rock “Kalte Buche” invites you to linger with an impressive view. At the Basalt Lake, a former and now water-filled quarry, there is the possibility to stop for refreshment. The very attractive scenic hiking trail runs mostly on easily walkable natural paths. Plenty of resting benches and seating groups are available for breaks.
