Der Wachtküppel – auch Lausbub oder Spitzbub der Rhön genannt - liegt 705 m ü. NN, im Herzen der hessischen Rhön. Unterhalb des Bergs befindet sich die Wendelinuskapelle am Wachtküppel. Der Rundweg führt am Fuße des Wachtküppels vorbei und in Richtung Poppenhausen (Wasserkuppe). Auf dem kleinen Rundweg gelangt man zu dem Berg Kühlküppel (573m), von wo aus man einen tollen Blick auf Poppenhausen (Wasserkuppe) genießen kann. Wer den Abstecher zu dem Wachtküppel plant, sollte diesen nur ohne Hunde machen. Der Wachtküppel liegt in einer umzäunten Ziegenweide.

Le Wachtküppel – aussi appelé "vaurien" ou "vaurien de la Rhön" – se situe à 705 m d’altitude dans le cœur de la Rhön hessoise. Sous la montagne se trouve la chapelle Wendelinus am Wachtküppel. Le sentier circulaire passe au pied du Wachtküppel et en direction de Poppenhausen (Wasserkuppe). Sur ce petit parcours, on atteint la montagne Kühlküppel (573 m), d’où l’on jouit d’une belle vue sur Poppenhausen (Wasserkuppe). Ceux qui prévoient un détour vers le Wachtküppel devraient le faire uniquement sans chiens. Le Wachtküppel se trouve dans un enclos à chèvres.

The Wachtkueppel – also known as the Rascal or Rascal of the Rhön – is 705 m above sea level, located in the heart of the Hessian Rhön. Below the mountain is the Wendelinus Chapel at Wachtkueppel. The circular path runs past the foot of the Wachtkueppel and towards Poppenhausen (Wasserkuppe). On the small circular route, you reach the Kühlkueppel mountain (573m), from where you have a great view of Poppenhausen (Wasserkuppe). Those who plan to make a detour to the Wachtkueppel should do so without dogs. The Wachtkueppel is located in a fenced goat pasture.

Kurze Zeit später biegt man in Altenmühle rechts in Richtung Ebersburg / Maiersbach ab. Weiter Richtung Wachtküppel, auf dieser Strecke liegt der Wanderparkplatz auf der rechten Straßenseite.
