Der kleine Ort Schönbrunn ist nicht nur ein Mekka für Gewürz-Fans, sondern biete durch seine besondere Lage am Südrand des UNESCO-Biosphärenreservats auch ideale Wanderbedingungen. Durch das kleine Tal im Norden kommt dem Ort die Schleuse entgegen. Folgen Sie der Gabeler Straße aus dem Ortskern nach Norden. Vorbei am alten Bahnhof und dem Fussballplatz des SV Schleusegrund e.V. geht es straight bergan bis Sie bald die schräg aufragende, 66m hohe Staumauer sehen. Hinter ihr befinden sich 23,8 Mrd. Liter Wasser! Bei einer täglichen Entnahme von ca. 27.000 m³ Wasser zur Versorgung der gesamten Region könnte die Talsperre eine Trockenperiode von bis zu 2,5 Jahren überbrücken. Der Weg führt weiter über die Staumauer bis zum Aussichtspunkt, ab dort geht es bergab zurück zum Ausgangangspunkt Wanderparkplatz.

Derrière lui se trouvent 23,8 milliards de litres d'eau ! Avec un prélèvement quotidien d'environ 27 000 m³ d'eau pour l'approvisionnement de toute la région, le barrage pourrait surmonter une période de sécheresse allant jusqu'à 2,5 ans. Le sentier continue au-dessus du barrage jusqu'au point de vue, puis descend vers le point de départ au parking de randonnée.

The path continues over the dam to the viewpoint, from there it goes downhill back to the starting point hiking car park.
