Le parking au campus scolaire est en quelque sorte votre point de départ. Engagez-vous sur le « chemin de six kilomètres » bien tracé, comme on l'appelle localement, et suivez la préparation jusqu'au petit viaduc que vous laissez sur votre gauche. En suivant le virage serré à droite, la montée douce commence, parallèle aux voies ferrées désaffectées en direction de la gare d'Ernstthal. Ici, vous tournez à droite sur le Rennsteig (avant les étangs), qui suit également une légère montée le long de la lisière de la forêt. De là, vous avez une belle vue sur le quartier d'Igelshieb à Neuhaus am Rennweg. Continuez tout droit en passant devant le cimetière d'Igelshieb jusqu'à l'abri. Ici, gardez la gauche puis, après 100 m, suivez le chemin panorama de la ville indiqué qui part sur la droite. Malheureusement, le tronçon d'environ 200 m depuis les jardins familiaux jusqu’à la Gartenklause, près du restaurant « Am Waldesrand » (possibilité de restauration), ne peut pas être tracé. Toutefois, il est possible de passer sur les skis. Merci de votre compréhension, car il n’y a pas d’itinéraire alternatif permettant une préparation continue. Depuis la Gartenklause, descendez légèrement à droite, jusqu'à ce que le chemin tourne à gauche dans la forêt. Ensuite, traversez simplement entre le complexe de garages et le bâtiment scolaire et vous aurez retrouvé votre point de départ. Au pied du téléski Apelsberg, vous trouverez dans l'hôtel-gîte-café « Am Rennsteig » une autre possibilité de restauration avec la délicieuse cuisine de Thuringe. D'ailleurs, non loin de ce restaurant, se trouve le centre équestre Kirchner, dont les promenades en traîneau à cheval à travers la forêt hivernale enneigée sont très appréciées des visiteurs.

The parking lot at the school campus is basically your starting point. Join the groomed 'six-kilometer route', commonly called that, and follow the grooming to the small viaduct, which lies to your left. Following the hairpin turn to the right, it goes slightly uphill, parallel to the disused railway tracks towards Ernstthal station. Here you turn right onto the Rennsteig (before the ponds), which also gently ascends along the edge of the forest. From here, you have a beautiful view of the Igelshieb district of Neuhaus am Rennweg. It goes straight ahead past the Igelshieb cemetery to the shelter hut. Here, keep left and then after 100 m follow the signposted city panorama route branching off to the right. Unfortunately, the section of about 200 m from the allotment garden area to the garden hut near the "Am Waldesrand" restaurant (refreshment opportunity) cannot be groomed. Nevertheless, skiing through is possible. Your understanding is requested, as an alternative route for continuous grooming is not available. From the garden hut, the path goes briefly downhill to the right until it bends left back into the forest. Now just pass between the garage complex and the school building and you have reached your starting point again. At the foot of the Apelsberg ski lift, you have another refreshment option with delicious Thuringian cuisine at the Hotel-Inn-Café "Am Rennsteig." By the way, not far from this restaurant is the Kirchner Riding Farm, whose horse-drawn sleigh rides through the snowy winter forest are very popular with guests.

Der Parkplatz  am Schulcampus ist sozusagen Ihr Ausgangspunkt. Steigen Sie am gespurten „Sechs-Kilometer-Weg“ ein, der im Volksmund so genannt wird und folgen Sie der Präparierung bis zum kleinen Viadukt, welches Sie linker Hand liegen lassen. Der Spitzkehre rechts folgend, geht es dann leicht bergauf, parallel der stillgelegten Bahnschienen in Richtung Bahnhof Ernstthal. Hier biegen Sie nach rechts auf den Rennsteig ab (vor den Teichen), der sich ebenfalls leicht bergauf an die Waldkante anschmiegt. Von hier haben Sie eine schöne Sicht auf den Stadtteil Igelshieb von Neuhaus am Rennweg. Es geht gerade aus am Friedhof Igelshieb vorbei bis zur Schutzhütte. Hier halten Sie sich links und folgen dann nach 100m dem rechts abzweigenden ausgeschilderten Stadtpanoramaweg. Leider kann das Teilstück von ca. 200m ab der Kleingartenanlage bis zur Gartenklause, nahe dem Restaurant „Am Waldesrand“ (Einkehrmöglichkeit), nicht gespurt werden. Dennoch ist die Durchfahrt auf Skiern möglich. Es wird um Verständnis gebeten, da eine alternative Streckenführung zum durchgängigen Präparieren nicht gegeben ist. Ab Gartenklause geht es nun rechts kurz bergab, bis der Weg wieder links in den Wald einbiegt. Jetzt nur noch zwischen dem Garagenkomplex und dem Schulgebäude durchfahren und Sie haben Ihren Ausgangspunkt wieder erreicht. Am Fuße des Skiliftes Apelsberg haben Sie im Hotel-Gasthaus-Café „Am Rennsteig“ eine weitere Einkehrmöglichkeit aus der leckeren Thüringer Küche.  Übrigens, nicht weit von diesem Gastronom entfernt, befindet sich der  Reiterhof Kirchner, dessen Pferdeschlittenfahrten durch den verschneiten Winterwald bei den Gästen sehr beliebt sind.
