Le Stechberg, au sud-ouest des ruines de Brandenburg, était un parc forestier populaire à l'époque de la RDA. La partie la plus haute était interdite d'accès car elle abritait des baraques de reconnaissances de l'Armée rouge, qui profitaient de la bonne vue vers Herleshausen et le poste frontière. Les soldats ne sont plus là, mais la vue unique est restée. Vers le sud, on regarde la vallée de l'Elte et la Rhön. Un abri invite à la pause. Depuis "Gustafs Ruh", on descend en serpentins à travers la forêt enchantée du Stechberg, toujours guidé par la sensation vers le bas jusqu'à la lisière de la forêt. Les ruines de Brandenburg se présentent dans toute leur splendeur sur le parcours. Le départ ou la fin de la boucle peut se faire par la visite du musée dans la kemenate des ruines de Brandenburg. Depuis la tour d'observation, on jouit d'un panorama unique sur les méandres de la Werra, le Ringgau, Lauchröden...

The Stechberg southwest of the Brandenburg ruin was a popular forest park during the GDR era. The upper area was off-limits: it housed scout barracks of the Red Army that used the good view towards Herleshausen and the border crossing station. The soldiers are no longer there, but the unique view remains. To the south, you look into the Eltetal valley and towards the Rhön. A shelter invites you to linger. From "Gustaf's Rest," you move in switchbacks through the enchanted forest of the Stechberg, always following your feeling downhill to the forest edge. The Brandenburg ruins present themselves in full splendor on the route. The start or end of the round can be a visit to the museum in the chamber of the Brandenburg ruin. From the observation tower, you have a unique panoramic view and look onto the meanders of the Werra river, the Ringgau, Lauchröden...

Der Stechberg im Südwesten der Ruine Brandenburg war zu DDR-Zeiten ein beliebter Wald- Park. Der oberste Bereich durfte nicht begangen werden: Hier befanden sich Aufklärerbaracken der Roten Armee, die die gute Sicht nach Herleshausen und zur Grenzübergangsstelle nutzten. Die Soldaten sind nicht mehr da, doch der einmalige Ausblick ist geblieben. In Richtung Süden schaut man in das Eltetal und zur Rhön. Ein Unterstand lädt zum Verweilen ein. Von "Gustafs Ruh" aus bewegt man sich in Serpentinen durch den verwunschenen Wald des Stechberg, immer  dem Gefühl nach unten folgend bis zum Waldrand. Die Ruinen der Brandenburg präsentieren sich auf der Tour in voller Pracht. Beginn oder Abschluss der Runde kann der Besuch des Museums in der Kemenate der Ruine Brandenburg sein. Vom Aussichtsturm aus hat man einen einmaligen Rundblick und schaut auf die Mäander der Werra, den Ringgau, Lauchröden...

Sie finden einen Rastplatz am höchsten Punkt mit toller Sicht nach Süden zum Eltetal und in Richtung Rhön. Hinter dem Rastplatz folgen Sie dem Trampelpfad, orientieren sich links, und erreichen den ehemaligen Wald-Park Stechberg mit "Gustafs Ruh", einem Aussichtspunkt nach Norden in Richtung Herleshausen. Von dort laufen Sie bergab  in Serpentinen, immer dem Gefühl nach bis zum unteren Waldrand. Hier nehmen Sie nach rechts den Weg in Richtung Burg, und folgen ihm bis oberhalb eines bewaldeten Einschnitts. Sie laufen auf dem kaum wahrnehmbaren Weg über die Wiese, biegen ab an der Baumreihe nach links und  weiter bergab bis zum Zufahrtsweg der Brandenburg. Nutzen Sie den Tag mit einem Besuch des Burggeländes. Dann kehren Sie zum Parkplatz zurück.

You follow the path to the right of the sandy area uphill, turn right at the edge of the field, and walk downhill through the tree clearing towards the castle, but only up to the edge of the forest, where you turn left and walk along the forest edge on the Friedrich-Weg path heading west. You find a rest area at the highest point with a great view south to the Eltetal valley and towards the Rhön. Behind the rest area, you follow the animal trail, keep left, and reach the former Stechberg forest park with "Gustaf's Rest," a viewpoint looking north towards Herleshausen. From there, you walk downhill in switchbacks, always following your feeling down to the lower edge of the forest. Here you take the path to the right towards the castle, and follow it to just above a wooded cut. You walk on the barely noticeable path across the meadow, turn left at the row of trees, and continue downhill to the access road to Brandenburg. Use the day to visit the castle grounds. Then return to the parking lot.

Hier nehmen Sie nach rechts den Weg in Richtung Burg, und folgen ihm bis oberhalb eines bewaldeten Einschnitts. Sie laufen auf dem kaum wahrnehmbaren Weg über die Wiese, biegen ab an der Baumreihe nach links und  weiter bergab bis zum Zufahrtsweg der Brandenburg. Nutzen Sie den Tag mit einem Besuch des Burggeländes. Dann kehren Sie zum Parkplatz zurück.

You find a rest area at the highest point with a great view south to the Eltetal valley and towards the Rhön. Behind the rest area, you follow the animal trail, keep left, and reach the former Stechberg forest park with "Gustaf's Rest," a viewpoint looking north towards Herleshausen. From there, you walk downhill in switchbacks, always following your feeling down to the lower edge of the forest. Here you take the path to the right towards the castle, and follow it to just above a wooded cut. You walk on the barely noticeable path across the meadow, turn left at the row of trees, and continue downhill to the access road to Brandenburg. Use the day to visit the castle grounds. Then return to the parking lot.

Ici, vous prenez à droite le chemin vers le château et le suivez jusqu'au-dessus d'une coupe boisée. Vous marchez sur un chemin à peine visible à travers la prairie, tournez à gauche à la rangée d'arbres, puis descendez jusqu'à la voie d'accès de Brandenburg. Profitez de la journée pour visiter le domaine du château. Ensuite, retournez au parking.
