Von Saalfeld aus führt die Route zunächst über Bad Blankenburg ins Schwarzatal. Von hier aus geht es weiter über die Burg Greifenstein, mit eigener Falknerei, bis nach Großgölitz. Hier hat ein einheimischer Holzkünstler einen Skulpturenpark errichtet. Auch eine kleine Destillerie befindet sich im Ort. Bergan geht es nun über Thälendorf in Richtung Burgruine Ehrenstein, ein ehemaliges Grafenschloss der Schwarzburger. Den höchsten Punkt der Tour, den großen Kalmberg, erreicht man im Anschluss. In den Jahren der deutschen Teilung war hier die NVA stationiert. Nach der Wiedervereinigung wurde stattdessen eine Sendeanlage des MDR errichtet. Über Wald- und Feldwege gelangt man über den Speicher Altremda nach Sundremda. Vorbei am Flugplatz Groschwitz und der gleichnamigen Domäne kommt man weiter in Richtung Keilhau. Vom Kesselberg geht es dann zügig zur Kesselwarte mit einem tollen Blick auf Bad Blankenburg und die Burg Greifenstein. Auf schmalen Waldwegen und Singletrails erreicht man im Anschluss das idyllische Örtchen Zeigerheim. Über den Zeigerheimer Berg folgt nun der letzte große Anstieg der Tour zum 9,5 Meter hohen Geschwister-Scholl-Turm, errichtet im Stil einer kleinen Ritterburg. Singletrails und Schotterwege führen in Richtung Rudolstadt. Der Saale folgend kommt man schließlich wieder zurück zum Ausgangspunkt.

Par des chemins forestiers et agricoles, on atteint le réservoir d'Altremda puis Sundremda. En passant par l'aérodrome de Groschwitz et le même nom de domaine, on continue vers Keilhau. Depuis le Kesselberg, on rejoint rapidement la Kesselwarte avec une belle vue sur Bad Blankenburg et le château de Greifenstein. Par des chemins étroits en forêt et des single trails, on atteint ensuite le charmant village de Zeigerheim. Par la montagne de Zeigerheim suit la dernière grande montée du parcours vers la tour Geschwister-Scholl haute de 9,5 mètres, construite dans le style d'une petite forteresse. Des single trails et des chemins de gravier mènent ensuite vers Rudolstadt. En suivant la Saale, on revient finalement au point de départ.

The route from Saalfeld first goes through Bad Blankenburg into the Schwarzatal valley. From here, it continues via the Greifenstein Castle, with its own falconry, to Großgölitz. Here, a local wood artist has created a sculpture park. There is also a small distillery in the village. Uphill it goes over Thälendorf towards the Ehrenstein castle ruins, a former count's castle of the Schwarzburg family. The highest point of the route, the large Kalmberg, is reached afterwards. During the years of German division, the NVA was stationed here. After reunification, a broadcasting facility of MDR was established instead. Via forest and field paths, you reach the Altremda reservoir on to Sundremda. Past the Groschwitz airfield and the homonymous domain, you go on towards Keilhau. From Kesselberg, you then quickly reach the Kesselwarte viewpoint with a great view over Bad Blankenburg and Greifenstein Castle. On narrow forest paths and single trails, you then reach the idyllic village of Zeigerheim. Over Zeigerheimer Berg follows the last big ascent of the route to the 9.5-meter-high Geschwister-Scholl Tower, built in the style of a small castle. Single trails and gravel paths lead towards Rudolstadt. Following the Saale River, you finally return to the starting point.
