<p><strong>Ausgangspunkt</strong></p>
<p>Der Nachtigallenweg startet gemeinsam mit dem Erlebnispfad Wilde Weide am Wanderparkplatz Kindel. Er führt vorbei an den großen Informationstafeln durch das Eingangstor Wilde Weide Kindel. Zur Linken erstreckt sich die Weide der Pferde und Rinder und zur Rechten die der Schafe und Ziegen. Nach nur wenigen Schritten bietet sich die erste Möglichkeit für eine kurze Pause auf einer Bank. Kinder erklettern derweil die Strauchwildnis. Weiter geht es Richtung Aussichtsturm. Auf etwa halber Strecke lädt die Ruhestation Rind zum Verweilen und gleichzeitig zum Knobeln ein. Eine Hinweistafel beschreibt die Möglichkeit, mittels Schrittmaß die Entfernung bis zum Aussichtsturm zu berechnen. Schritte zählend geht es nun weiter zum Aussichtsturm.</p>
<p><strong>Aussichtturm Wilde Weide</strong></p>
<p>Das Areal bietet sich mit zahlreichen Sitzmöglichkeiten – für sehr sonnige oder regnerische Tage auch geschützt - für ein Picknick an. Groß und Klein haben Spaß auf dem 9,6 m hohen Aussichtsturm. Bis zur Terrasse ist der Ausstieg leicht, bis in die Spitze ist ein klein wenig Gelenkigkeit erforderlich. Ob von der Terrasse oder in der Spitze des Turmes, man genießt einen wunderschönen Blick nach Norden zu den Buchenwäldern des Nationalparks, nach Westen über die Weide der Schafe und Ziegen hin zum Thüringer Wald und der Wartburg und nach Osten über die Weide der Rinder und Pferde. Mit etwas Glück und einem Fernglas lassen sich unsere Weidetiere erspähen.</p>
<p><strong>Weide der Schafe und Ziegen</strong></p>
<p>Wenn der Weitblick ausgiebig genossen wurde, geht es weiter durch die Besucherschleuse auf die Weide der Schafe und Ziegen. Die Tür lässt sich nach Umklappen der Sperre ganz einfach öffnen. Auch wenn die Herde der Weidetiere nicht zu sehen ist, deren Hinterlassenschaften und Trittsiegel sind es auf jeden Fall. Nach wenigen Metern zweigt der Erlebnispfad Wilde Weide nach links ab, wir aber wandern weiter geradeaus. Entlang von im Frühling weißblühenden Sträuchern führt uns das Nachtigallenweg-Piktogram sicher über die Fläche. Immer wieder passieren wir Informationstafeln, die über diesen wertvollen und schützenswerten Lebenraum und seinen selten gewordenen Bewohnern, zum NATURA 2000 Schutzgebietsnetz und zu den Weidetieren informieren. </p>
<p>Auf dem höchsten Punkt des Wanderweges angelangt, markiert durch die Sitzraufe Am Schlangengraben, gestatten wir uns einen Blick zurück über die weiten Freiflächen des Kindel. Der Name Kindel geht auf den 'Kindelhof' zurück, dessen Flächen in den ab 1935 existierenden Truppenübungsplatz einbezogen wurden. Bis 1991 nutzte die Sowjetarmee die 2540 Hektar großen Flächen. Zur Anlage von Schießbahnen wurden Anfang der achtziger Jahre 600 Hektar Laubwald eingeschlagen. </p>
<p>Flockenblume, Wegwarte, Witwenblume, Hauhechel, Goldrute, Kreuzkraut und zahlreiche Disteln, eingebettet im Grasmeer der Sommerwiese, verzaubern das Plateau mit bunter Blütenpracht. Neben vielen Feldlerchen sind in den gebüschreichen Weiten auch zahlreiche Heckenvögel wie Goldammer, Zilpzalp, Grasmückenarten oder Neuntöter zu beobachten bzw. zu belauschen.</p>
<p>Der Weg führt nun talabwärts hin zum Silbersee, die Wartburg ist am Horizont unsere ständige Begleiterin.</p>
<p><strong>Der Silbersee</strong></p>
<p>Der Silbersee ist ein künstliches Gewässer, das geraume Zeit vor Gründung des Nationalparks als Rückhaltebecken angelegt wurde. Heute ist er das größte Stillgewässer im Nationalpark. Seinen Namen verdankt der See, ähnlich wie sein Namensvetter aus den Karl-May-Episoden, dem schillernden Lichtspiel der Wellen in der Abendsonne. Spätestens in der Aussichtskanzel Silbersee zahlt es sich aus, ein Fernglas dabei zu haben, um die Wasservogelwelt zu beobachten. Verschiedene Entenarten, Blässhuhn und Teichhuhn sind häufig zu sehen. Im Randgebüsch bauen hin und wieder Beutelmeisen ihre Nester. In den zahlreichen Kleingewässern rund um den See tummeln sich Amphibien in großer Zahl. Auch die seltene Gelbbauchunke und der Laubfrosch sind hier anzutreffen. </p>
<p>Am Silbersee befindet sich der Umkehrpunkt. Nach einem Wegstück am Weidezaun wandern wir wieder leicht bergauf und genießen auf dem Rückweg noch einmal den Blick über den Kindel. </p>
<p><strong>Rückweg mit Erlenbruchwald udn Infopavillon</strong></p>
<p>Gemeinsam mit dem Erlebnispfad Wilde Weide verlassen wir durch ein Besuchertürchen die Weidefläche. Der Weg führt uns durch einen Erlenbruchwald, in dem vom Herbst bis Frühling das Wasser steht und unter einer Brücke entlangplätschert. Nicht weit, und mit der Ruhestation Metamorphose ist die letzte Sitzmöglichkeit des Weges erreicht. Hier befindet sich auch der Infopavillon, der Wissbegierigen alle Fragen speziell zu den Weideprojekten im Nationalpark, den Weidetieren auf den Flächen, zum NATUR 2000 – Netzwerk und der spannenden Geschichte des südlichen Nationalparks beantwortet. Après seulement quelques pas, la première possibilité de faire une courte pause sur un banc se présente. Pendant ce temps, les enfants escaladent la végétation arbustive. La route continue en direction de la tour d'observation. À mi-chemin environ, la station de repos Rind invite à s'arrêter et à jouer un peu. Un panneau d'information décrit la possibilité de calculer la distance jusqu'à la tour d'observation en mesurant les pas. En comptant les pas, on continue ensuite vers la tour d'observation.</p>
<p><strong>Tour d'observation Wilde Weide</strong></p>
<p>Le site offre de nombreux endroits pour s'asseoir – protégés pour les jours très ensoleillés ou pluvieux – idéal pour un pique-nique. Petits et grands s'amusent sur la tour d'observation haute de 9,6 m. L'accès à la terrasse est facile, mais un peu de souplesse est nécessaire pour atteindre le sommet. Que ce soit depuis la terrasse ou le sommet de la tour, on profite d'une magnifique vue vers le nord sur les forêts de hêtres du parc national, vers l'ouest au-dessus du pâturage des moutons et des chèvres jusqu'à la forêt de Thuringe et la Wartburg, et vers l'est sur le pâturage des bovins et des chevaux. Avec un peu de chance et des jumelles, on peut apercevoir nos animaux pâturant.</p>
<p><strong>Pâturage des moutons et des chèvres</strong></p>
<p>Après avoir largement profité de la vue panoramique, on continue à travers la porte des visiteurs sur le pâturage des moutons et des chèvres. La porte s'ouvre facilement après avoir relevé la barrière. Même si le troupeau d'animaux pâturant n'est pas visible, leurs traces et excréments le sont certainement. Après quelques mètres, le parcours d'aventure Wilde Weide se détourne à gauche, mais nous continuons tout droit. Le pictogramme du chemin des Rossignols nous guide sûrement à travers la zone, bordée au printemps par des arbustes à fleurs blanches. Nous passons régulièrement des panneaux d'information qui renseignent sur cet habitat précieux et digne de protection, ses habitants rares, le réseau de zones protégées NATURA 2000 et les animaux pâturant.</p>
<p>Arrivés au point le plus élevé du chemin de randonnée, marqué par la mangeoire assise Am Schlangengraben, nous nous permettons un regard en arrière sur les vastes espaces ouverts du Kindel. Le nom Kindel remonte à la ferme "Kindelhof", dont les terrains furent intégrés à partir de 1935 dans le polygone militaire. Jusqu'en 1991, l'armée soviétique utilisa les 2540 hectares. Pour aménager des champs de tir, 600 hectares de forêt feuillue furent abattus au début des années 80.</p>
<p>Le centaurée, la chicorée, la fleur de veuve, la coronille, la verge d'or, le séneçon et de nombreux chardons, enchâssés dans la mer d'herbes de la prairie d'été, enchantent le plateau de leur floraison colorée. Outre de nombreux alouettes des champs, on peut également observer et écouter dans les vastes fourrés de nombreux oiseaux de haies comme le bruant jaune, le pouillot véloce, différentes espèces de fauvettes ou la pie-grièche écorcheur.</p>
<p>Le chemin descend maintenant vers le lac Silbersee, avec la Wartburg toujours présente à l'horizon.</p>

<p>Le Silbersee est un plan d'eau artificiel créé quelque temps avant la fondation du parc national comme bassin de rétention. Aujourd'hui, c'est la plus grande eau stagnante du parc national. Le lac doit son nom, à l'instar de son homologue des épisodes de Karl May, aux jeux de lumière chatoyants des vagues au coucher du soleil. Au plus tard dans la tour d'observation Silbersee, il vaut la peine d'avoir des jumelles pour observer la vie des oiseaux aquatiques. Diverses espèces de canards, foulques et poules d'eau sont souvent visibles. Parfois, des mésanges à poche construisent leur nid dans les fourrés en bordure. De nombreux amphibiens peuplent les nombreuses petites eaux autour du lac. On y trouve également la rare bombina variegata et la rainette verte.</p>
<p>Le Silbersee marque le point de demi-tour. Après un tronçon le long de la clôture du pâturage, nous remontons légèrement en profitant encore une fois de la vue sur le Kindel au retour.</p>
<p><strong>Chemin de retour avec forêt marécageuse de frênes et pavillon d'information</strong></p>
<p>En compagnie du parcours d'aventure Wilde Weide, nous quittons la zone de pâturage par une porte visiteur. Le chemin nous conduit à travers une forêt marécageuse de frênes, dans laquelle l'eau stagne de l'automne au printemps et coule sous un pont. Pas loin, la dernière possibilité de s'asseoir sur le chemin est atteinte avec la station de repos Métamorphose. C'est aussi là que se trouve le pavillon d'information, qui répond à toutes les questions des curieux, notamment sur les projets de pâturage dans le parc national, les animaux pâturant sur les surfaces, le réseau NATURA 2000 et l'histoire passionnante du parc national sud. <p><strong>Starting Point</strong></p>
<p>The Nightingale Route starts together with the Wild Meadow Experience Trail at the Kindel hiking car park. It passes the large information boards through the Wild Meadow Kindel entrance gate. On the left stretches the pasture of horses and cattle, and on the right that of sheep and goats. After only a few steps, the first opportunity for a short break on a bench is offered. Meanwhile, children climb the shrub wilderness. The path continues towards the lookout tower. About halfway, the cattle rest stop invites you to pause and also to puzzle. An information board describes the possibility of calculating the distance to the lookout tower by counting steps. Counting steps, you continue on to the lookout tower.</p>
<p><strong>Wild Meadow Lookout Tower</strong></p>
<p>The area offers numerous seating options – also sheltered for very sunny or rainy days – for a picnic. Young and old enjoy the 9.6 m high lookout tower. The ascent to the terrace is easy; reaching the top requires a bit of agility. Whether from the terrace or the top of the tower, you enjoy a beautiful view north towards the beech forests of the national park, west over the pasture of sheep and goats to the Thuringian Forest and Wartburg, and east over the pasture of cattle and horses. With some luck and binoculars, you may spot our grazing animals.</p>
<p><strong>Pasture of Sheep and Goats</strong></p>
<p>After enjoying the expansive view, continue through the visitor passage to the pasture of sheep and goats. The door can be easily opened by flipping the latch. Even if the herd is not visible, their droppings and footprints certainly are. After a few meters, the Wild Meadow Experience Trail branches off to the left, but we continue straight ahead. Along shrubs blooming white in spring, the Nightingale Route pictogram safely guides us across the area. We repeatedly pass information boards that inform about this valuable and protected habitat and its rare inhabitants, the NATURA 2000 protected area network, and the grazing animals.</p>
<p>At the highest point of the trail, marked by the seating rack "Am Schlangengraben," we allow ourselves a glance back over the wide open spaces of Kindel. The name Kindel derives from the 'Kindelhof,' whose areas were included in the military training ground established from 1935. Until 1991, the Soviet army used the 2540 hectare area. To create shooting ranges, 600 hectares of deciduous forest were felled in the early 1980s.</p>
<p>Cornflower, chicory, widow’s flower, restharrow, goldenrod, ragwort, and numerous thistles, embedded in the grass sea of the summer meadow, enchant the plateau with colorful blossoms. Besides many skylarks, numerous hedge birds such as yellowhammer, chiffchaff, warbler species, or red-backed shrike can be observed or listened to in the shrub-rich expanses.</p>
<p>The path now leads downhill towards Silbersee, with the Wartburg our constant companion on the horizon.</p>
<p><strong>Silbersee</strong></p>
<p>Silbersee is an artificial body of water that was created long before the founding of the national park as a retention basin. Today, it is the largest still water in the national park. The lake owes its name, similar to its namesake from the Karl May episodes, to the shimmering play of light on the waves at sunset. Especially in the Silbersee lookout, it is worthwhile to have binoculars to observe water birds. Various duck species, coot, and moorhen are frequently seen. In the edge bushes, penduline tits occasionally build their nests. Amphibians are abundant in the numerous small waters around the lake. The rare yellow-bellied toad and the tree frog can also be found here.</p>
<p>Silbersee marks the turning point of the route. After a stretch along the pasture fence, we walk slightly uphill again, enjoying the view over Kindel once more on the return.</p>
<p><strong>Return Path with Alder Swamp Forest and Info Pavilion</strong></p>
<p>Together with the Wild Meadow Experience Trail, we leave the pasture area through a visitor gate. The path leads through an alder swamp forest where water stands from autumn to spring and gently splashes under a bridge. Not far away, the last seating opportunity of the path is reached at the Metamorphosis rest stop. Here is also the info pavilion, answering all questions for the curious, especially about the grazing projects in the national park, the grazing animals on the areas, the NATURA 2000 network, and the exciting history of the southern national park. Starting Point
The Nightingale Route starts together with the Wild Meadow Experience Trail at the Kindel hiking car park. It passes the large information boards through the Wild Meadow Kindel entrance gate. On the left stretches the pasture of horses and cattle, and on the right that of sheep and goats. After only a few steps, the first opportunity for a short break on a bench is offered. Meanwhile, children climb the shrub wilderness. The path continues towards the lookout tower. About halfway, the cattle rest stop invites you to pause and also to puzzle. An information board describes the possibility of calculating the distance to the lookout tower by counting steps. Counting steps, you continue on to the lookout tower.
Wild Meadow Lookout Tower
The area offers numerous seating options – also sheltered for very sunny or rainy days – for a picnic. Young and old enjoy the 9.6 m high lookout tower. The ascent to the terrace is easy; reaching the top requires a bit of agility. Whether from the terrace or the top of the tower, you enjoy a beautiful view north towards the beech forests of the national park, west over the pasture of sheep and goats to the Thuringian Forest and Wartburg, and east over the pasture of cattle and horses. With some luck and binoculars, you may spot our grazing animals.
Pasture of Sheep and Goats
After enjoying the expansive view, continue through the visitor passage to the pasture of sheep and goats. The door can be easily opened by flipping the latch. Even if the herd is not visible, their droppings and footprints certainly are. After a few meters, the Wild Meadow Experience Trail branches off to the left, but we continue straight ahead. Along shrubs blooming white in spring, the Nightingale Route pictogram safely guides us across the area. We repeatedly pass information boards that inform about this valuable and protected habitat and its rare inhabitants, the NATURA 2000 protected area network, and the grazing animals.
At the highest point of the trail, marked by the seating rack "Am Schlangengraben," we allow ourselves a glance back over the wide open spaces of Kindel. The name Kindel derives from the 'Kindelhof,' whose areas were included in the military training ground established from 1935. Until 1991, the Soviet army used the 2540 hectare area. To create shooting ranges, 600 hectares of deciduous forest were felled in the early 1980s.
Cornflower, chicory, widow’s flower, restharrow, goldenrod, ragwort, and numerous thistles, embedded in the grass sea of the summer meadow, enchant the plateau with colorful blossoms. Besides many skylarks, numerous hedge birds such as yellowhammer, chiffchaff, warbler species, or red-backed shrike can be observed or listened to in the shrub-rich expanses.
The path now leads downhill towards Silbersee, with the Wartburg our constant companion on the horizon.
Silbersee
Silbersee is an artificial body of water that was created long before the founding of the national park as a retention basin. Today, it is the largest still water in the national park. The lake owes its name, similar to its namesake from the Karl May episodes, to the shimmering play of light on the waves at sunset. Especially in the Silbersee lookout, it is worthwhile to have binoculars to observe water birds. Various duck species, coot, and moorhen are frequently seen. In the edge bushes, penduline tits occasionally build their nests. Amphibians are abundant in the numerous small waters around the lake. The rare yellow-bellied toad and the tree frog can also be found here.
Silbersee marks the turning point of the route. After a stretch along the pasture fence, we walk slightly uphill again, enjoying the view over Kindel once more on the return.
Return Path with Alder Swamp Forest and Info Pavilion
Together with the Wild Meadow Experience Trail, we leave the pasture area through a visitor gate. The path leads through an alder swamp forest where water stands from autumn to spring and gently splashes under a bridge. Not far away, the last seating opportunity of the path is reached at the Metamorphosis rest stop. Here is also the info pavilion, answering all questions for the curious, especially about the grazing projects in the national park, the grazing animals on the areas, the NATURA 2000 network, and the exciting history of the southern national park. Ausgangspunkt
Der Nachtigallenweg startet gemeinsam mit dem Erlebnispfad Wilde Weide am Wanderparkplatz Kindel. Er führt vorbei an den großen Informationstafeln durch das Eingangstor Wilde Weide Kindel. Zur Linken erstreckt sich die Weide der Pferde und Rinder und zur Rechten die der Schafe und Ziegen. Nach nur wenigen Schritten bietet sich die erste Möglichkeit für eine kurze Pause auf einer Bank. Kinder erklettern derweil die Strauchwildnis. Weiter geht es Richtung Aussichtsturm. Auf etwa halber Strecke lädt die Ruhestation Rind zum Verweilen und gleichzeitig zum Knobeln ein. Eine Hinweistafel beschreibt die Möglichkeit, mittels Schrittmaß die Entfernung bis zum Aussichtsturm zu berechnen. Schritte zählend geht es nun weiter zum Aussichtsturm.
Aussichtturm Wilde Weide
Das Areal bietet sich mit zahlreichen Sitzmöglichkeiten – für sehr sonnige oder regnerische Tage auch geschützt - für ein Picknick an. Groß und Klein haben Spaß auf dem 9,6 m hohen Aussichtsturm. Bis zur Terrasse ist der Ausstieg leicht, bis in die Spitze ist ein klein wenig Gelenkigkeit erforderlich. Ob von der Terrasse oder in der Spitze des Turmes, man genießt einen wunderschönen Blick nach Norden zu den Buchenwäldern des Nationalparks, nach Westen über die Weide der Schafe und Ziegen hin zum Thüringer Wald und der Wartburg und nach Osten über die Weide der Rinder und Pferde. Mit etwas Glück und einem Fernglas lassen sich unsere Weidetiere erspähen.
Weide der Schafe und Ziegen
Wenn der Weitblick ausgiebig genossen wurde, geht es weiter durch die Besucherschleuse auf die Weide der Schafe und Ziegen. Die Tür lässt sich nach Umklappen der Sperre ganz einfach öffnen. Auch wenn die Herde der Weidetiere nicht zu sehen ist, deren Hinterlassenschaften und Trittsiegel sind es auf jeden Fall. Nach wenigen Metern zweigt der Erlebnispfad Wilde Weide nach links ab, wir aber wandern weiter geradeaus. Entlang von im Frühling weißblühenden Sträuchern führt uns das Nachtigallenweg-Piktogram sicher über die Fläche. Immer wieder passieren wir Informationstafeln, die über diesen wertvollen und schützenswerten Lebenraum und seinen selten gewordenen Bewohnern, zum NATURA 2000 Schutzgebietsnetz und zu den Weidetieren informieren.
Auf dem höchsten Punkt des Wanderweges angelangt, markiert durch die Sitzraufe Am Schlangengraben, gestatten wir uns einen Blick zurück über die weiten Freiflächen des Kindel. Der Name Kindel geht auf den 'Kindelhof' zurück, dessen Flächen in den ab 1935 existierenden Truppenübungsplatz einbezogen wurden. Bis 1991 nutzte die Sowjetarmee die 2540 Hektar großen Flächen. Zur Anlage von Schießbahnen wurden Anfang der achtziger Jahre 600 Hektar Laubwald eingeschlagen.
Flockenblume, Wegwarte, Witwenblume, Hauhechel, Goldrute, Kreuzkraut und zahlreiche Disteln, eingebettet im Grasmeer der Sommerwiese, verzaubern das Plateau mit bunter Blütenpracht. Neben vielen Feldlerchen sind in den gebüschreichen Weiten auch zahlreiche Heckenvögel wie Goldammer, Zilpzalp, Grasmückenarten oder Neuntöter zu beobachten bzw. zu belauschen.
Der Weg führt nun talabwärts hin zum Silbersee, die Wartburg ist am Horizont unsere ständige Begleiterin.
Der Silbersee
Der Silbersee ist ein künstliches Gewässer, das geraume Zeit vor Gründung des Nationalparks als Rückhaltebecken angelegt wurde. Heute ist er das größte Stillgewässer im Nationalpark. Seinen Namen verdankt der See, ähnlich wie sein Namensvetter aus den Karl-May-Episoden, dem schillernden Lichtspiel der Wellen in der Abendsonne. Spätestens in der Aussichtskanzel Silbersee zahlt es sich aus, ein Fernglas dabei zu haben, um die Wasservogelwelt zu beobachten. Verschiedene Entenarten, Blässhuhn und Teichhuhn sind häufig zu sehen. Im Randgebüsch bauen hin und wieder Beutelmeisen ihre Nester. In den zahlreichen Kleingewässern rund um den See tummeln sich Amphibien in großer Zahl. Auch die seltene Gelbbauchunke und der Laubfrosch sind hier anzutreffen.
Am Silbersee befindet sich der Umkehrpunkt. Nach einem Wegstück am Weidezaun wandern wir wieder leicht bergauf und genießen auf dem Rückweg noch einmal den Blick über den Kindel.
Rückweg mit Erlenbruchwald udn Infopavillon
Gemeinsam mit dem Erlebnispfad Wilde Weide verlassen wir durch ein Besuchertürchen die Weidefläche. Der Weg führt uns durch einen Erlenbruchwald, in dem vom Herbst bis Frühling das Wasser steht und unter einer Brücke entlangplätschert. Nicht weit, und mit der Ruhestation Metamorphose ist die letzte Sitzmöglichkeit des Weges erreicht. Hier befindet sich auch der Infopavillon, der Wissbegierigen alle Fragen speziell zu den Weideprojekten im Nationalpark, den Weidetieren auf den Flächen, zum NATUR 2000 – Netzwerk und der spannenden Geschichte des südlichen Nationalparks beantwortet. Der Weg führt nun weiter nach links zurück zum Wanderparkplatz. |
