Vom breiten Weg biegen wir nach links (von Rüspelsweg kommend) oder rechts (von Zollgarten kommend) dem Wegweiser folgend auf einen schmalen Pfad in den germanischen Urwald ein. Hier wachsen hauptsächlich große Buchen, auch einige Eichen und Hainbuchen. Nach ca. 200 m öffnet sich der Blick zum Hünenteich.</p> <p><strong>1. Station: Steinaltar mit Götterbild</strong></p> <p>Gegenüber einem Rastplatz befindet sich die 1. Station, der Steinaltar mit Götterbild. Hier ist der Besucher eingeladen sich Zeit zu nehmen, zu rasten und die besondere Stimmung auf sich wirken zu lassen. Vögel singen und der Wind rauscht in den Bäumen. Im Sommer scheint die Sonne durch die Blätter, im Herbst ist es vielleicht neblig. Bis zu diesem Platz ist der Weg auch mit Rollstühlen und Kinderwagen zu befahren. Wir folgen dem Pfad um den Hünenteich herum. An der Stirnseite hat man einen schönen Blick über das Gewässer. Weiter geht es über einen Steg, an dem Wasser aus dem aufgestauten Teich abfließt. Kurz danach treffen wir auf die Rundwanderwege "Hünenteich" und "Saugraben". Wir folgen dem Pfad nach rechts, weiter am Teich entlang. Der Weg schlängelt sich um ein paar Restbestände von hier nicht ursprünglich vorkommenden Fichten. Wir gelangen zu einem weiteren Rastplatz an zwei dicken alten Bäumen: einer Hainbuche und einem Kirschbaum. Wenn man zwischen beiden Bäumen steht und hinaufschaut sieht es aus, als ob die Hainbuche die Kirsche zu sich heranzieht.</p> <p><strong>2. Station: Plaggenaltar mit Kultstangen und Götterbild</strong></p> <p>Wenige Meter weiter erblickt das Auge des Wanderers den Plaggenaltar mit Kultstangen und Götterbild, die 2. Station. Die Baumkronen formen sich darüber wie zu einem Kuppeldach einer Halle. Dem Wegweiser folgend biegen wir nun auf dem Pfad nach links vom Hünenteich weg in den Wald. Es geht leicht bergauf, der Baumbestand wird dichter. Auf der rechten Wegseite sieht man im Mai die Bärlauch-Bestände blühen. Links kann man eine ehemalige Lichtung erkennen, die jetzt mit jungen Buchen und Bergahornen wieder zuwächst.</p> <p><strong>3. - 5. Station: Keulenidol, Stockidol, Schwertidol</strong></p> <p>Nach der Hälfte des Anstiegs befindet sich die 3. Station: ein Keulenidol inmitten von Bärlauch.</p> <p>Der Weg steigt nun etwas stärker an. Am Ende des Anstiegs befindet sich linkerhand das Stockidol (4. Station) Nach ca. 50 m sieht man Reste der Wallanlage Hünenburg; an der Schautafel kann man sich näher informieren.</p> <p>Am rechten Wegrand befindet sich das Schwertidol (5. Station). Wir folgen dem leicht abfallenden Weg weiter, der Wald wird jetzt lichter, daher ist er mehr dem Wetter ausgesetzt und kann in feuchten Jahreszeiten etwas schlammig sein. Im Frühling kann man hier den frischen Duft des Bärlauchs genießen, der hier großflächig vorkommt. Rechterhand kann man einen kleinen Tümpel entdecken.</p> <p><strong>6. Station: Astgabelidol</strong></p> <p>Unmittelbar gegenüber der Wasserstelle gelangen wir zur 6. Station, einer Astgabelgottheit. Von hier steigt der Weg wieder etwas an und der Wald wird dichter. Es bietet sich an, etwas langsamer zu gehen und den vielen Vogelstimmen zu lauschen.</p> <p><strong>7. u. 8. Station: Brettidol und Pfahlidol<br /></strong></p> <p>An der rechten Seite des Weges steht ein Brettidol (7. Station), flankiert von zwei großen Eichen. Kurz bevor sich der Wald öffnet, markiert rechterhand die 8. Station, ein Pfahlidol, das Ende des Germanischen Kultpfades und entlässt den Wanderer aus dem Wald heraus zurück in die Gegenwart. Über einen Holzplankenweg gelangen wir auf eine Offenfläche mit Blick zur Umweltbildungsstation. Zwei angelegte Pfade, einer am Waldrand und einer mitten durch die Offenfläche, führen zurück zum breiten Hauptweg, über den die Parkplätze erreicht werden können.</p>

Standing between the two trees and looking upward, it appears as if the hornbeam is pulling the cherry tree towards itself.</p> <p><strong>2nd Station: Plaggen altar with cult poles and deity image</strong></p> <p>A few meters further, the hiker's eye sees the plaggen altar with cult poles and deity image, the 2nd station. The tree crowns form a dome-like roof over it. Following the signpost, we turn left away from the Hünenteich on a path into the forest. The path slightly ascends and the tree stock thickens. On the right side of the path, you can see blooming wild garlic stands in May. On the left, a former clearing is growing back with young beeches and sycamores.</p> <p><strong>3rd - 5th Stations: Club idol, staff idol, sword idol</strong></p> <p>Halfway up the ascent is the 3rd station: a club idol amidst wild garlic.</p> <p>The path now climbs more steeply. At the end of the ascent, the staff idol (4th station) is on the left side. About 50 m further, you see remains of the fortification Hünenburg; information is available on the display panel.</p> <p>On the right side of the path is the sword idol (5th station). We follow the gently descending path further. The forest is now more open, thus more exposed to the weather and can be somewhat muddy in wet seasons. Sur la droite, on peut voir en mai la floraison des populations d’ail des ours. À gauche, on peut reconnaître une ancienne clairière qui repousse maintenant avec de jeunes hêtres et des érables sycomores.</p> <p><strong>3e - 5e stations : Idoles massue, bâton, épée</strong></p> <p>À la moitié de la montée se trouve la 3e station : une idole massue au milieu de l’ail des ours.</p> <p>Le chemin monte un peu plus fortement. Zwei angelegte Pfade, einer am Waldrand und einer mitten durch die Offenfläche, führen zurück zum breiten Hauptweg, über den die Parkplätze erreicht werden können.
