Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts transportierte eine Kleinbahn Menschen und Güter zwischen Bad Langensalza und Kirchheilingen – später bis in die Gemeinde Haussömmern. Der Zug pendelte zuerst nur zwischen Langensalza und Kirchheilingen, später führte die Strecke bis Haussömmern. Am 1. Dezember 1969 wurde die gesamte Strecke, die über 27.5 km führte, endgültig stillgelegt. Dieser ehemalige Bahndamm ist Teil des K²- Radweges. Er führt über sanfte Hügel, durch weite Feldlandschaften, vorbei an schmucken und beschaulichen Dörfern. In Bad Tennstedt und Tottleben befindet sich jeweils eine Kneipp- Anlage. Möglichkeiten, eine Rast einzulegen und den Blick schwefen zu lassen, gibt es viele, und bei schönem Wetter kann man bis zum Thüringer Wald sehen. Wer Lust und Zeit hat, kann von der Strecke abzweigen und andere Orte in der Umgebung besuchen. Ein Besuch in Bad Tennstedt lohnt sich allemal. Ein historischer Stadtkern, der idyllische Kurpark mit Schwefeltretbecken und der Kneippanlage im natürlichen Bachlauf, das Naturschutzgebiet Bruchwiesen und nicht zuletzt eine gepflegte Gastronomie erwarten Sie.

At the beginning of the 20th century, a narrow-gauge railway transported people and goods between Bad Langensalza and Kirchheilingen – later extending to the municipality of Haussömmern. The train initially shuttled only between Langensalza and Kirchheilingen; later the route extended to Haussömmern. On December 1, 1969, the entire route, over 27.5 km long, was permanently closed. This former railway embankment is part of the K² cycling route. It leads over gentle hills, through wide farmland, past neat and quaint villages. There are Kneipp facilities both in Bad Tennstedt and Tottleben. There are many opportunities to take a break and enjoy the view, and on good weather days, you can see all the way to the Thuringian Forest. If you have the time and desire, you can branch off from the route and visit other nearby places. A visit to Bad Tennstedt is well worth it. A historic town center, the idyllic spa park with sulfur footbaths and the Kneipp facility in the natural stream, the Bruchwiesen nature reserve, and last but not least, excellent gastronomy await you.

Le centre historique, le parc thermal idyllique avec bassin de marche à l’eau sulfurée et installation Kneipp dans le cours d’eau naturel, la réserve naturelle Bruchwiesen ainsi qu’une gastronomie soignée vous y attendent.
