Auf dem Naturlehrpfad, der schon 1989 angelegt wurde, kann man die heimische Flora und Fauna hautnah erleben. Mit offenen Augen und Sinnen, kann man viele gekennzeichnete Pflanzen und Bäume erkunden und sein Wissen auffrischen bzw. Neues erlernen. Alle Bäume des Jahres sind ebenfalls auf dieser Rundwanderung zu finden. Die Tour startet am Inselbergbad. Hier kann kostenlos geparkt werden. Vorbei am Fussballplatz, geht es dierkt zur Schutzhütte "am Roh" mit einem herrlichen Rundblick auf Brotterode und zum Hausberg dem Inselberg. Nach einem erfrischenden Schluck aus der "Rohquelle" gelangt man über den Wiebach nach einem Linksschwenk und einem leichten Anstieg zur "Reitbahn". Die Kleinen können sich auf dem Spielplatz austoben, während die Großen unter den überdachten Sitzplätzen relaxen. Frisch gestärkt, geht es weiter zur "Adolfsblick Quelle" mit dem Brotteröder Wappen und einer kühlen Quelle und einer Schutzhütte. An diesem sehr stillen Platz, lehnen sie sich einfach mal zurück und geniesen die Ruhe des Waldes und hören einfach zu, was ihnen Dr. Wald so alles erzählen hat. Sehr erfreulich ist auch, dass sie hier schon die höchste Stelle des Rundwanderweges erreicht haben und ab hier geht es sehr gemütlich bergab. An der Bergahorngruppe biegen sie links ab, um im "Alttal" entlang des dort entspringenden Bächleins, am "Hörberg Brunnen" anzukommen. Weiter unten im "Alttal", queren sie das Inselwasser , welches hier sehr schön durch ein kleines Muldental neandert und weiter durch Brotterode fließt. Sie laufen weiter Richtung "Beckemühle" um wieder zum "Inselbergbad" zu gelangen. Alle Wege entlang dieser Rundwanderung, sind befestigt und familienfreundlich.

The little ones can let off steam on the playground while the adults relax under the covered seating areas. Refreshed, continue to the "Adolfsblick Quelle" with the Brotterode coat of arms, a cool spring, and a shelter. At this very quiet spot, just lean back and enjoy the peace of the forest and listen to what Dr. Forest has to tell you. It is also very pleasing that you have already reached the highest point of the circular route here, and from here it goes very comfortably downhill. At the Bergahorngruppe, turn left to reach the "Alttal" along the stream that springs from here, at the "Hörberg Brunnen". Further down in the "Alttal", you cross the Inselwasser, which here meanders beautifully through a small hollow and flows further through Brotterode. Continue towards the "Beckemühle" to return to the "Inselbergbad". All paths along this circular route are paved and family-friendly.

Sur le sentier pédagogique, créé dès 1989, on peut découvrir de près la flore et la faune locales. Avec les yeux et les sens ouverts, vous pouvez explorer de nombreuses plantes et arbres marqués et rafraîchir vos connaissances ou en apprendre de nouvelles. Tous les arbres de l'année se trouvent également sur cette randonnée circulaire. Le parcours commence à l'Inselbergbad. Le stationnement y est gratuit. En passant par le terrain de football, on se dirige directement vers l'abri « am Roh » avec une belle vue panoramique sur Brotterode et la montagne locale l’Inselberg. Après une gorgée rafraîchissante à la « Rohquelle », on arrive au Wiebach, puis après un virage à gauche et une montée légère, à la « Reitbahn ». Les enfants peuvent se défouler sur le terrain de jeux pendant que les adultes se détendent sous les places assises couvertes. Bien revigorés, on continue vers la source « Adolfsblick » avec les armoiries de Brotterode, une source fraîche et un abri. À cet endroit très calme, laissez-vous simplement aller et profitez du calme de la forêt en écoutant les histoires que le Dr. Forêt a à raconter. Il est également très réjouissant que vous ayez atteint ici le point le plus haut du parcours circulaire, puis la descente devient très agréable. Au groupe de hêtres, tournez à gauche pour parvenir à la « Alttal » le long du ruisseau qui prend naissance ici, jusqu'à la « Fontaine Hörberg ». Plus bas dans la « Alttal », vous traversez l’eau de l’Inselwasser, qui coule joliment dans une petite vallée en cuvette au style Néandertal et traverse Brotterode. Vous continuez en direction du « Beckemühle » pour revenir à l’« Inselbergbad ». Tous les chemins le long de cette randonnée circulaire sont aménagés et adaptés aux familles.
