Le barrage Ohratalsperre construit entre 1960 et 1966 est un barrage en enrochements, haut de 59 m, long de 260 m. Sur la crête du barrage on se trouve à 525 m d'altitude, la capacité du réservoir est de 17,8 millions de m3, la surface d'eau est de 0,86 km2, les affluents sont le Kerngrund et le Silbergraben. Par la galerie Gerastollen s'écoule l'eau des Gera sauvage et apprivoisée au Salzmannfelsen vers le Silbergraben. Au Kerngrund, la galerie Schmalwasserstollen se jette aussi dans l'affluent de l’Ohra. Depuis le parking Ohratalsperre, monter à gauche vers la digue, continuer en direction d’Oberhof jusqu’au Salzmannfelsen. Suivre le parcours circulaire autour de l’Ohra, passer devant la retenue Kerngrund, revenir vers la digue, descendre en passant devant la brasserie Ohrabaude et après environ 200 m, tourner à droite sur un petit chemin forestier qui descend vers le parking. En chemin, on peut profiter de nombreux beaux points de vue. Nordic walkers, randonneurs et cyclistes y trouvent tous leur compte.

The Ohratalsperre, built 1960-66, is a rockfill dam, 59 m high, 260 m dam length, at the dam crest 525 m above sea level, reservoir volume 17.8 million m3, water surface 0.86 km2, inflows are the Kerngrund and Silbergraben. Through the Gerastollen flows the water of the wild and tame Gera at Salzmannfelsen into the Silbergraben. In the Kerngrund also the Schmalwasserstollen flows into the Ohra's inflow. From the Ohratalsperre car park, left up to the dam, further towards Oberhof to Salzmannfelsen. Following the circular route around the Ohra, past the Kerngrund fore-reservoir back to the dam, down past the Ohrabaude beer garden and after approx. 200 m right down a small forest path to the car park. Along the way, you can enjoy many beautiful viewpoints. Nordic walkers, hikers and cyclists alike will get their money's worth.

Die Ohratalsperre erbaut 1960-66 ist ein Steinschüttdamm, 59m hoch, 260m Dammlänge, auf der Dammkrone ist man auf 525m ü NN, die Staumenge beträgt 17,8 Mio m3, die Wasserfläche beträgt o,86 km2, Zuflüsse sind der Kerngrund und der Silbergraben. Durch den Gerastollen fließt das Wasser der wilden und der zahmen Gera am Salzmannfelsen in den Silbergraben. Im Kerngrund mündet auch der Schmalwasserstollen in den Zufluss der Ohra. Vom Parkplatz Ohratalsperre links hoch zur Staumauer, weiter Richtung Oberhof bis Salzmannfelsen. Den Rundweg um die Ohra folgend, vorbei an der Kerngrundvorstausperre zurück zur Staumauer, hinunter vorbei am Biergarten Ohrabaude und nach ca. 200 m rechts auf kleinen Waldweg hinunter zum Parkplatz. Unterwegs kann man sehr viele schöne Ausichtspunkte geniesen. Nordic Walker, Wanderer und Radfahrer kommen gleichermaßen auf ihre Kosten.
