Cette randonnée t’emmène en altitude, jusqu’au troisième plus haut sommet du district de Wartburg : le Gerberstein. Ce sommet de blocs granitiques n’est pas la plus haute montagne de notre district, mais il est la première montagne attestée par écrit de toute la Forêt de Thuringe et est un monument naturel protégé depuis 1940. Dès l’an 933, le nom « Gervuenestein » apparaît dans une description de frontière de la marche de Breitungen. Aujourd’hui, plus de 1 000 ans plus tard, nous t’emmenons pour une marche vers ce lieu chargé d’histoire, car le nom de la pierre dérive du dieu germanique de la lance Gerwin. Le départ et l’arrivée de la boucle se font à la cabane de ski de Ruhla. Les points de départ alternatifs sont le parking de l’auberge de la forêt « Dreiherrnstein » ou le parking de randonnée « Imbiss zur Wallfahrt am Rennsteig ». Ne manque pas l’excursion à la zone désertée de Glasbach, berceau de la ville minière de Ruhla ; autrefois se tenait une chapelle à cet endroit, dont il ne reste aujourd’hui que des vestiges.

This hike takes you high up to the third highest elevation of the Wartburg district – the Gerberstein. The granite block summit is not the highest mountain in our district, but it is the first historically documented mountain in the entire Thuringian Forest area and has been a natural monument since 1940. Already in the year 933, the name "Gervuenestein" appears in a boundary description of the Mark Breitungen. And today, over 1,000 years later, we take you on a hike to this historically significant place, as the name of the stone is derived from the Germanic spear god Gerwin. The start and end point of the circular route is at the "Ruhla ski hut." Alternative starting points are the car park of the forest tavern "Dreiherrnstein" or the hiking car park "Imbiss zur Wallfahrt am Rennsteig." You should not miss the detour to the Glasbach deserted village. This is the cradle of the mining town of Ruhla; once a chapel stood here, today only ruins can be seen.

Hoch hinaus geht es bei dieser Wanderung und zwar zur dritthöchsten Erhebung des Wartburgkreises – dem Gerberstein. Der Granitblockgipfel ist nicht der höchste Berg unseres Kreises, aber dafür der erste urkundlich erwähnte Berg im gesamten Gebiet des Thüringer Waldes und seit 1940 ein Flächennaturdenkmal. Bereits im Jahr 933 taucht der Name „Gervuenestein“ in einer Grenzbeschreibung der Mark Breitungen auf. Und heute, über 1.000 Jahre später, nehmen wir Sie mit auf eine Wanderung zu diesem geschichtsträchtigen Ort, denn der Name des Steines ist abgleitet vom germanischen Speergott Gerwin. Start- und Endpunkt der Rundtour ist an der "Ruhlaer Skihütte". Alternative Startpunkte sind der Parkplatz der Waldschänke "Dreiherrnstein" oder der Wanderparkplatz "Imbiss zur Wallfahrt am Rennsteig". Den Abstecher zur Wüstung Glasbach sollten Sie sich nicht entgehen lassen. Hier befindet sich die Wiege der Bergstadt Ruhla, einst stand eine Kapelle an diesem Ort, heute sind nur noch Reste zu sehen.

schema:value @de	Startpunkt der rund 5,5 Kilometer langen Tour ist die Ruhlaer Skihütte. Von dort laufen Sie, der Markierung mit dem gelben Dreieck folgend entlang der Gastrasse bis zur Kreisgrenze. Die Straße überquerend, befinden Sie sich nun auf dem Brotteröder Weg in Richtung Dreiherrnstein. Nach ca. einem Kilometer zweigen Sie rechterhand in Richtung Gerberstein ab. Als Verlängerung der Tour besteht die Möglichkeit, einen Abstecher zur „Waldschänke Dreiherrnstein“ zu unternehmen. Dafür folgen Sie dem Brotteröder Weg einen weiteren Kilometer. Gehen Sie nun wieder zurück bis zum Abzweig Gerberstein. Hier befinden sich entlang des Weges einige sehenswerte Findlinge, die durchaus ein hübsches Fotomotiv ausmachen. Nach wenigen Metern haben Sie die Granitfelsformation erreicht. Einige Treppenstufen führen nun hinauf zur Aussichtskanzel. Dort angekommen, können Sie Ihren Blick über das Werratal schweifen lassen und bis in die Rhön schauen. Vermutlich stand auf dem Gerberstein einst eine Burg, wovon jedoch keinerlei Überreste mehr zu sehen sind. Nach dem Abstieg vom Gerberstein überqueren Sie nun die Straße. Nach ca. 100 Metern befindet sich linkerhand die Wüstung „Glasbach“. Hier lassen sich noch die Reste der einstigen Kapelle „Wallfahrt“ ausmachen, welche im Mittelalter an diesem Ort stand. Nach ca. 400 m erreichen Sie den Imbiss „Zur Wallfahrt am Rennsteig“. Hier befindet sich ebenfalls ein Wanderparkplatz, welcher ein idealer Ausgangspunkt für zahlreiche Wanderungen auf dem Rennsteig ist. Dieser Standort wird von den Einheimischen auch „Schillerbuche“ genannt, da sich gegenüber vom Parkplatz eine alte Buche befindet. Überqueren Sie nun erneut die Straße, um wieder auf die Gastrasse zu kommen. Auf halben Weg können Sie nun einen Abstecher zur „Erbstromquelle“ machen. Verweilen Sie doch hier einen kurzen Moment, ehe Sie den Rückweg zur „Ruhlaer Skihütte“ antreten. Wieder am Ausgangspunkt angekommen, können Sie im Hotel „Rennsteighof“ oder in die Wandergaststätte „Ruhlaer Skihütte“ einkehren. Ebenso besteht hier auch die Möglichkeit der Greifenwarte „Falknerei am Rennsteig“ einen Besuch abzustatten und an einer Flugshow teilzunehmen.

En traversant la route, tu te trouves maintenant sur le chemin de Brotterode en direction de Dreiherrnstein. Après environ un kilomètre, tourne à droite vers le Gerberstein. Pour prolonger la randonnée, tu peux faire un détour jusqu’à l’auberge de forêt « Waldschänke Dreiherrnstein ». Pour cela, continue encore un kilomètre sur le chemin de Brotterode. Ensuite, retourne à la bifurcation du Gerberstein. Le long du chemin, tu trouveras plusieurs blocs erratiques dignes d’intérêt, qui font de jolies photos. Après quelques mètres, tu atteins la formation rocheuse granitique. Quelques marches mènent à une plateforme d’observation. Une fois là-haut, tu peux admirer la vue sur la vallée de la Werra et jusqu’à la Rhön. Il est probable qu’il y ait eu autrefois un château sur le Gerberstein, bien qu’il n’en reste aucun vestige visible aujourd’hui. Après la descente du Gerberstein, traverse de nouveau la route. Environ 100 mètres plus loin, sur la gauche, se trouve la zone désertée de « Glasbach ». On peut encore y voir les restes de l’ancienne chapelle de « Wallfahrt » qui se trouvait là au Moyen Âge. Après environ 400 mètres, tu arrives à la buvette « Zur Wallfahrt am Rennsteig ». Il y a aussi un parking de randonnée, parfait pour de nombreuses randonnées sur le Rennsteig. Cet endroit est également surnommé localement « Schillerbuche », car une vieille hêtre se trouve en face du parking. Traverse encore une fois la route pour revenir sur la route gastronomique. À mi-chemin, tu peux faire un détour jusqu’à la source d’Erbstrom. Prends le temps de t’y arrêter un instant avant d’entamer le retour vers la cabane de ski de Ruhla. De retour au point de départ, tu peux te restaurer à l’hôtel « Rennsteighof » ou à la maison d’hôtes « Ruhlaer Skihütte ». Il est aussi possible de visiter la fauconnerie « Falknerei am Rennsteig » et d’assister à un spectacle de vol.

As an extension of the tour, it is possible to make a detour to the "Waldschänke Dreiherrnstein". For this purpose, follow the Brotteröder Weg for another kilometer. Then return to the Gerberstein turnoff. Along the way, there are some remarkable boulders that make very nice photo motifs. After a few meters, you reach the granite rock formation. Gehen Sie nun wieder zurück bis zum Abzweig Gerberstein. Hier befinden sich entlang des Weges einige sehenswerte Findlinge, die durchaus ein hübsches Fotomotiv ausmachen. Nach wenigen Metern haben Sie die Granitfelsformation erreicht. Einige Treppenstufen führen nun hinauf zur Aussichtskanzel. Dort angekommen, können Sie Ihren Blick über das Werratal schweifen lassen und bis in die Rhön schauen. Vermutlich stand auf dem Gerberstein einst eine Burg, wovon jedoch keinerlei Überreste mehr zu sehen sind. Nach dem Abstieg vom Gerberstein überqueren Sie nun die Straße. Nach ca. 100 Metern befindet sich linkerhand die Wüstung „Glasbach“. Hier lassen sich noch die Reste der einstigen Kapelle „Wallfahrt“ ausmachen, welche im Mittelalter an diesem Ort stand. Nach ca. 400 m erreichen Sie den Imbiss „Zur Wallfahrt am Rennsteig“. Hier befindet sich ebenfalls ein Wanderparkplatz, welcher ein idealer Ausgangspunkt für zahlreiche Wanderungen auf dem Rennsteig ist. Dieser Standort wird von den Einheimischen auch „Schillerbuche“ genannt, da sich gegenüber vom Parkplatz eine alte Buche befindet. Überqueren Sie nun erneut die Straße, um wieder auf die Gastrasse zu kommen. Auf halben Weg können Sie nun einen Abstecher zur „Erbstromquelle“ machen. Verweilen Sie doch hier einen kurzen Moment, ehe Sie den Rückweg zur „Ruhlaer Skihütte“ antreten. Wieder am Ausgangspunkt angekommen, können Sie im Hotel „Rennsteighof“ oder in die Wandergaststätte „Ruhlaer Skihütte“ einkehren. Ebenso besteht hier auch die Möglichkeit der Greifenwarte „Falknerei am Rennsteig“ einen Besuch abzustatten und an einer Flugshow teilzunehmen.
