Der Naturpark-Weg führt als mittelschwere Tour rund um Brotterode und bietet nahezu pausenlos malerische Panoramen auf die imposanten Schanzenanlagen, auf den Ort Brotterode bis in die Rhön und natürlich auf den markanten Inselsberg. Bereits am Naturpark-Tor Axdorf zieht es den Blick zur großen Inselsbergschanze am gegenüberliegenden Seimberg. Brotterode und Wintersport gehören seit 1900 untrennbar zusammen: Skilanglauf, Bobfahren, Rennrodeln und natürlich Skispringen. Die 1920 gebaute Schanze ist eine der ältesten Anlagen in Deutschland auf der noch heute regelmäßig internationale Skispringen stattfinden. Der Naturpark-Weg führt gemächlich immer auf der Höhe entlang und bietet freie Sicht auf Brotterode und die Schanzenanlage. Die Gemarkung liegt als fast kreisrunde Rodungsinsel in einer Talmulde am Südhang des Inselsbergs. Der Ort wird von Wiesen umkränzt und von den umliegenden Bergen wie ein Gemälde gerahmt. Entlang des Waldsaumes geht`s weiter zur Pfingstweide. Eine Hütte lädt zur Rast. Der Blick schweift über den Ort und lässt in der Ferne die Höhenzüge der Rhön erkennen. Das Kugliche Köpfchen wird umrundet und der Naturpark-Weg erreicht das Alttal. Entlang des idyllischen, von Felsen gesäumten Bachtals vorbei am Hörbergbrunnen steigt der Weg hinauf zur Rohquelle, deren Wasser heilend sein soll. Am Starterhäuschen des WSV bietet sich ein schönes Panorama auf die Talmulde von Brotterode und den Inselsberg. Nach einem Waldstück trifft der Naturpark-Weg am Gänsberg auf die Liftanlage und die Rodelbahn. Hier werden jedes Jahr die beliebten Hörnerschlittenrennen ausgetragen. Die Aussicht über Brotterode hinüber zum Inselsberg ist einzigartig.  Steil bergab geht`s zur Schutzhütte an der Hohen Wiese mit weitem Blick ins Werratal und in die Hohe Rhön. Der Naturpark-Weg führt nun hinunter in den Ort, vorbei am Haus des Gastes und steigt durch die Wiesen entlang einer Laubbaumallee wieder auf zum Ausgangspunkt am Naturpark-Tor Axdorf.

Le sentier du parc naturel est un parcours de difficulté moyenne autour de Brotterode, offrant presque sans interruption de pittoresques panoramas sur les impressionnantes installations de tremplins, sur la localité de Brotterode jusqu'à la Rhön et bien sûr sur l'imposant Inselsberg. Dès la porte du parc naturel d'Axdorf, le regard se dirige vers le grand tremplin de l'Inselsberg sur le Seimberg en face. Brotterode et les sports d'hiver sont indissociables depuis 1900 : ski de fond, bobsleigh, luge de course et bien sûr saut à ski. Le tremplin construit en 1920 est l'une des plus anciennes installations en Allemagne où se déroulent encore régulièrement des compétitions internationales de saut à ski. Le sentier du parc naturel suit calmement la crête et offre une vue dégagée sur Brotterode et le complexe de tremplins. Le périmètre communal forme une quasi-île défrichée circulaire dans une dépression vallonnée sur le versant sud de l'Inselsberg. Le village est entouré de prairies et encadré par des montagnes environnantes comme un tableau. Le long de la lisière forestière, le chemin continue vers la Pfingstweide. Une cabane invite à la pause. Le regard embrasse le village et laisse apercevoir au loin les chaînes de montagnes de la Rhön. Le Kugliches Köpfchen est contourné et le sentier du parc naturel atteint la vallée Alttal. Le long de la vallée idyllique bordée de rochers, passant par la fontaine Hörberg, le chemin monte vers la source Rohquelle, dont l'eau est supposée être curative. La cabane de départ du WSV offre un beau panorama sur la vallée encaissée de Brotterode et sur l'Inselsberg. Après un tronçon forestier, le sentier rencontre au Gänsberg la station de remontée mécanique et la piste de luge. Chaque année s’y déroulent les populaires courses de luges Hörnerschlittenrennen. La vue sur Brotterode jusqu'à l'Inselsberg est unique.  La descente raide mène à la cabane de la Haute Prairie avec une vaste vue sur la vallée de la Werra et la Haute Rhön. Le sentier du parc naturel descend ensuite vers le village, passe devant la Maison des hôtes et remonte à travers les prés le long d'une allée d'arbres à feuilles caduques jusqu'au point de départ à la porte du parc naturel d'Axdorf.

The Nature Park path is a moderate route around Brotterode and offers nearly nonstop picturesque panoramas of the impressive ski jump facilities, the town of Brotterode stretching into the Rhön, and of course the distinctive Inselsberg. Already at the Nature Park gate Axdorf, the view is drawn to the large Inselsberg ski jump on the opposite Seimberg. Brotterode and winter sports have been inseparable since 1900: cross-country skiing, bobsleigh, luge, and of course ski jumping. The ski jump, built in 1920, is one of the oldest facilities in Germany where international ski jumping events still regularly take place today. The Nature Park path leads leisurely along the heights and offers an unobstructed view of Brotterode and the ski jump facility. The district lies as an almost circular clearing island in a valley basin on the southern slope of the Inselsberg. The town is surrounded by meadows and framed like a painting by the surrounding mountains. Following the edge of the forest, the path continues to the Pfingstweide. A hut invites you to rest. The view sweeps over the town and reveals the mountain ranges of the Rhön in the distance. The Kugliches Köpfchen is circled and the Nature Park path reaches the Alttal. Along the idyllic, rock-lined stream valley past the Hörberg spring, the path climbs up to the Rohquelle, whose water is said to be healing. At the WSV starter hut, there is a beautiful panorama of the Brotterode valley basin and the Inselsberg. After a stretch through the forest, the Nature Park path meets the lift facility and the toboggan run at Gänsberg. The popular Hörner sled races are held here every year. The view over Brotterode towards the Inselsberg is unique.  Steeply downhill, the path leads to the shelter at Hohe Wiese with wide views of the Werra valley and the Hohe Rhön. The Nature Park path now leads down into the town, past the Haus des Gastes and climbs back up through meadows along a deciduous tree avenue to the starting point at the Nature Park gate Axdorf.
