... und gehen weiter in die Rennsteigstraße am AWO-Seniorenheim „Rennsteigschlösschen“ vorbei durch ein kleines Waldstück und dann über das „Rodeland“ (Wiesenfelder) rechts zum Waldrand, wo eine kleine Schutzhütte zu einer Rast einlädt. Ab hier verläuft der Rennsteig Skiweg auf einem breiten Forstweg durch den Hochwald. Nach einer scharfen rechts Kurve geht es leicht bergauf. Nun stößt auch der original Rennsteig wieder auf den Skiweg. Sie halten sich links und gelangen nach einigen Metern zum Wanderparkplatz am Skifahrerdenkmal. Dort angekommen überqueren Sie noch die Verbindungsstraße Ernstthal-Piesau und stoßen genau auf das Skifahrerdenkmal.

From here the Rennsteig ski trail runs on a wide forest road through the upland forest. After a sharp right turn, it goes slightly uphill. Now the original Rennsteig also joins the ski trail again. Keep left and after a few meters you reach the hiking car park at the Skifahrerdenkmal. Once there, you cross the connecting road Ernstthal-Piesau and arrive directly at the Skifahrerdenkmal.

... et vous continuez dans la Rennsteigstraße, en passant devant la maison de retraite AWO « Rennsteigschlösschen » à travers un petit bois, puis par le « Rodeland » (prairies) à droite vers la lisière de la forêt où un petit abri invite à une pause. À partir d’ici, le sentier de ski du Rennsteig suit un large chemin forestier à travers la haute forêt. Après un virage serré à droite, la montée s’adoucit. Le Rennsteig original rejoint à nouveau le sentier de ski. Vous restez à gauche et après quelques mètres, vous arrivez au parking de randonnée près du monument du skieur. Une fois arrivé, vous traversez la route de liaison Ernstthal-Piesau et vous vous trouvez juste devant le monument du skieur.
