This stage of the HOCHRHÖNER begins in Premich and leads through the quiet Kellersbach valley, where thyme blooms in summer. In the village of Langenleiten you will come across the works of local sculptors. The baroque Church of St. Mary invites you to take a short stop. This is followed by a seven-kilometer-long climb to the Kreuzberg. At 928 meters, it is the third highest peak in the Rhön. The "Holy Mountain of the Franconians" is a place of pilgrimage rich in tradition. The path there leads through a varied landscape of mixed forests and mountain meadows. A unique panorama of the Rhön awaits you at the summit. The Kreuzberg owes its name to three Golgotha crosses. The Franciscan monastery, built around 1681, is known for the traditionally brewed monastery beer that is served in the monastery tavern. You reach the stage destination of Oberweißenbrunn via the wide saddle between Kreuzberg and Arnsberg. Beforehand, a short detour takes you to the legendary ruins of Osterburg. La deuxième étape du HOCHRHÖNER commence à Premich et traverse la paisible vallée du Kellersbach, où le thym fleurit en été. Dans le village de pêcheurs de Langenleiten, tu rencontreras les œuvres de sculpteurs locaux. L'église baroque Marienkirche t'invite à faire une petite halte. Ensuite, tu entameras une ascension de sept kilomètres jusqu'au Kreuzberg. Avec ses 928 mètres, c'est le troisième sommet le plus haut de la Rhön. La "montagne sacrée des Francs" est un lieu de pèlerinage riche en traditions. Le chemin qui y mène traverse un paysage varié de forêts mixtes et de prairies de montagne. Au sommet, un panorama unique de la Rhön t'attend. Le Kreuzberg doit son nom à trois croix du Golgotha. Le monastère franciscain, construit vers 1681, est connu pour sa bière d'abbaye brassée de manière traditionnelle, qui est servie dans la taverne du monastère. Die zweite Etappe des HOCHRHÖNERS beginnt in Premich und führt durch das stille Kellersbachtal, wo im Sommer der Thymian blüht. Im Angerdorf Langenleiten begegnest du den Arbeiten örtlicher Bildhauer. Die barocke Marienkirche lädt zu einem kurzen Stopp ein. Danach beginnt ein sieben Kilometer langer Aufstieg zum Kreuzberg. Er ist mit 928 Metern der dritthöchste Gipfel der Rhön. Der „Heilige Berg der Franken“ ist ein traditionsreicher Wallfahrtsort. Der Weg dorthin führt durch eine abwechslungsreiche Landschaft aus Mischwäldern und Bergwiesen. Auf dem Gipfel erwartet dich ein einzigartiges Panorama der Rhön. Drei Golgatha-Kreuzen verdankt der Kreuzberg seinen Namen. Das um 1681 erbaute Franziskanerkloster ist bekannt für das traditionell gebraute Klosterbier, das in der Klosterschänke ausgeschenkt wird. Über den breiten Sattel zwischen Kreuzberg und Arnsberg erreichst du das Etappenziel Oberweißenbrunn. Zuvor führt dich ein kleiner Abstecher zur sagenumwobenen Ruine der Osterburg.
