Ausgangspunkt ist der Kurort Bad Lobenstein, von wo die Route zunächst durch waldreiche Abschnitte in Richtung Saale führt und auf den Saaleradweg trifft.  Nach ersten Anstiegen erreichen Sie Blankenstein an der Saale. Hier bietet sich am Wanderstützpunkt Blankenstein eine ideale Gelegenheit für eine Pause, bevor die Tour in ihren landschaftlich eindrucksvollsten Abschnitt übergeht. Der anschließende Weg durch das Höllental zählt zu den Höhepunkten der Strecke. Die enge Schlucht beeindruckt mit steilen Felswänden, naturnahen Bachläufen und dichter Vegetation. Radfahrer erleben hier eine besondere Kombination aus geologischen Besonderheiten, abwechslungsreicher Flora und weiten Ausblicken. Oberhalb des Tals laden mehrere Aussichtspunkte zu kurzen Pausen und Fotostopps ein. Die Rückreisemöglichkeit besteht von Blankenstein mit der Bahn zurück nach Bad Lobenstein. Die Route verläuft überwiegend auf asphaltierten Straßen und gut ausgebauten Wegen. Insgesamt ist die Tour als mittelschwer einzustufen. Eine gute Grundkondition ist erforderlich, da mehrere steilere Anstiege zu bewältigen sind. La gorge étroite impressionne par ses parois rocheuses escarpées, ses cours d'eau naturels et sa végétation dense. Les cyclistes y découvrent une combinaison spéciale de particularités géologiques, de flore variée et de vastes panoramas. L'itinéraire se déroule principalement sur des routes asphaltées et des chemins bien aménagés. La randonnée est globalement classée comme de difficulté moyenne. Une bonne condition physique de base est nécessaire, car plusieurs montées plus raides doivent être franchies.
