Die Tour startet an der Touristinformation Georgenthal und führt am sonnig glitzernden Hammerteich mit seinem schwebenden Steg zum Waldsaumpfad Richtung Catterfeld. In einem weiten Bogen steigt der Weg an und öffnet oben herrliche Ausblicke über den Thüringer Wald. Am Wiederkommshög, dem Platz einer Klause aus dem 13. Jahrhundert, lädt ein Steintisch zur Rast ein. Weiter geht es oberhalb von Catterfeld entlang der warmen Südseite des Hangs. Hier entdeckt man einen alten Bergstollen, in dem im 18. Jahrhundert Kobalt abgebaut wurde – ein stiller Zeuge vergangener Zeiten. Über die naturbelassene Kirschallee führt der Weg hinab in den Ort und weiter zum Eichenwald, einst für den Bergbau angelegt. Eine Schutzhütte informiert über die historische Eichelgemeinde. Nach einem ehemaligen Steinbruch quert man die B 88 nach Altenbergen, wo Tafeln und Museum die Ortsgeschichte lebendig machen. Ein Pfad bringt dich schließlich zum Johannesberg mit dem Candelaber, bevor es aussichtsreich zurück nach Georgenthal geht.

The tour starts at the Georgenthal Tourist Information and leads past the sunlit sparkling Hammerteich with its floating jetty to the forest edge path towards Catterfeld. In a wide arc, the path ascends and opens up magnificent views over the Thuringian Forest at the top. At Wiederkommshög, the site of a hermitage from the 13th century, a stone table invites you to rest. The route continues above Catterfeld along the warm south side of the slope. Here you will discover an old mine tunnel where cobalt was mined in the 18th century – a silent witness to times gone by. The path leads down through the natural cherry avenue into the village and further to the oak forest, originally laid out for mining. A shelter provides information about the historical acorn community. After passing a former quarry, you cross the B 88 to Altenbergen, where signs and a museum bring the local history to life. A trail finally takes you to Johannesberg with the Candelaber, before returning with great views to Georgenthal.

La randonnée commence à l'office de tourisme de Georgenthal et conduit le long de l'étang Hammer scintillant au soleil avec son pont flottant vers le chemin de lisière de forêt en direction de Catterfeld. Le chemin monte en arc large et s'ouvre en haut sur de magnifiques vues sur la Forêt de Thuringe. Au Wiederkommshög, emplacement d'une cellule du XIIIe siècle, une table en pierre invite à la pause. Le chemin continue au-dessus de Catterfeld le long du versant sud ensoleillé. Ici, on découvre une ancienne galerie minière où le cobalt était extrait au XVIIIe siècle – un témoin silencieux du passé. Par l'allée naturelle des cerisiers, le chemin descend vers le village puis vers la forêt de chênes, autrefois créée pour l'exploitation minière. Un abri donne des informations sur la communauté historique des glands. Après une ancienne carrière, on traverse la B 88 pour Altenbergen où des panneaux et un musée rendent vivante l'histoire locale. Un sentier vous mène enfin au Johannesberg avec le Candelaber, avant de revenir vers Georgenthal avec une belle vue.
