Despite their own intellectual and literary achievements, women of the Early Romantic period often remain in the shadow of their husbands. This guided tour highlights the influence of Caroline Schlegel and Dorothea Veit on the Jena Early Romantic movement, as well as their unusual dual role as wives and “spiritual companions.” In celebration of International Museum Day, both admission to the museum and participation in the tour are free of charge.
Ungeachtet eigener intellektueller, auch literarischer Leistungen stehen die frühromantischen Frauen oft im Schatten ihrer Ehemänner. In dieser Hausführung wird der Einfluss von Caroline Schlegel und Dorothea Veit auf die Jenaer Frühromantik hervorgehoben, ebenso auf ihre ungewöhnliche Doppelrolle als Ehefrauen und ‚Gefährtinnen des Geistes‘ hingewiesen. Anlässlich des Internationalen Museumstags sind sowohl der Eintritt ins Museum als auch die Teilnahme an der Führung kostenfrei.
