Die Gedenk- und Bildungsstätte Andreasstraße erinnert an Unterdrückung und Widerstand während der SED-Diktatur in Thüringen sowie an die Friedliche Revolution von 1989. Im Gebäude der heutigen Gedenkstätte betrieb das Ministerium für Staatssicherheit der DDR eine Untersuchungshaftanstalt. Mehr als 5000 Menschen wurden hier inhaftiert. Am 4. Dezember 1989 besetzten couragierte Menschen die Erfurter Bezirksverwaltung der Staatssicherheit in der Andreasstraße – es war die erste Besetzung einer Bezirksverwaltung des MfS während der Friedlichen Revolution. In der öffentlichen Führung sehen Sie die Dauerausstellung „HAFT | DIKTATUR | REVOLUTION – THÜRINGEN 1949-1989“. Jeden Samstag und Sonntag um 14 Uhr gibt es eine öffentliche Führung. Sie dauert 90 Minuten und ist im Eintrittspreis (2€ / 1 € ) enthalten. Für die öffentlichen Führungen ist eine Anmeldung nicht notwendig.
The Andreasstraße Memorial and Educational Center commemorates the oppression and resistance during the SED dictatorship in Thuringia, as well as the Peaceful Revolution of 1989. The Ministry for State Security of the GDR operated a remand prison in the building that now houses the memorial. More than 5,000 people were detained here. On December 4, 1989, courageous individuals occupied the Erfurt district office of the Ministry for State Security on Andreasstraße—it was the first occupation of an MfS district office during the Peaceful Revolution.During the public tour, you will see the permanent exhibition “IMPRISONMENT | DICTATORSHIP | REVOLUTION – THURINGIA 1949–1989.” Public tours take place every Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. They last 90 minutes and are included in the admission price (€2 / €1). No registration is required for the public tours.
