Ernst Neufert, architect of large industrial buildings and author of Bauentwurfslehre - a standard work in architectural literature - erected a prototype for industrial building in Weimar-Gelmeroda as early as 1929. His 10 x 10 m residential building with integrated architect's office was planned in a metre grid as a timber test house based on the American model. On the occasion of the 100th birthday of Ernst Neufert in 1999, the Neufert Box was erected in the garden of the Neufert House as a space for events and exhibitions. Open by reservation.
