Die ehemalige Rote Löwenmühle wurde im Jahr 1502 erbaut und zunächst als Papiermühle genutzt. Doch aufgrund starker Wasserverschmutzung erfolgte im Jahr 1580 der Umbau zur Mahlmühle. Später kam es zu einer Umnutzung als Loh- und Spinnmühle. Ab 1902 gehörte die Mühle zum Besitz einer Eisengießerei. In den Jahren 1958-1965 wurde die Mühlentechnik abgebaut. Der Mühlstein wird heute im Foyer des Rathauses ausgestellt. Das Gebäude wurde später von der VEB Blech- und Biegemaschinen genutzt. Seit 1994 kam es immer mehr zum Verfall des Gebäudes und schließlich 2007 zum Abriss. Heute befindet sich auf dem ehemaligen Gelände ein Wohnpark.

The former Rote Löwenmühle was built in 1502 and initially used as a paper mill. However, due to severe water pollution, it was converted into a grinding mill in 1580.
