About: Hundeshagen

Hundeshagen was first mentioned in a document in 1282 when the Lords of Westernhagen received patronage over the church. The village belonged to Kurmainz until the secularization in 1802. The place is also known as the "musicians village", because many of the residents earned their living as traveling musicians from the 17th century onwards. In doing so, they developed their secret language "Kochum". In 2018 Hundeshagen was incorporated into the city of Leinefelde‐Worbis.

Hundeshagen wurde 1282 erstmals urkundlich erwähnt, als die Herren von Westernhagen das Patronat über die Kirche erhielten. Das Dorf gehörte bis zur Säkularisation 1802 zu Kurmainz. Der Ort ist auch als „Musikantendorf” bekannt, denn viele der Bewohner verdienten ihr Geld ab dem 17. Jahrhundert als Wandermusikanten. Dabei entwickelten sie eine eigene geheime Sprache ‐ das „Kochum”. Am 6. Juli 2018 wurde Hundeshagen in die Stadt Leinefelde‐Worbis eingegliedert.
